Good idea! I have lots of bicycle tube patches that could also perhaps do the trick, thanks for this suggestion.

Yeah, throwing it out was definitely my first impulse...if I am able to fix it I don't think I'll use it for food anymore.

Good idea, thanks - it's quite a versatile material. If i'm not able to fix it, will use the bag as scrap silicone

yeah, i am going to wash it well, sanitize it in the dishwasher and not use it for food again.
