I have a teacher sister here in PA. one thing I can tell you is that she's overworked because she's qualified to the exact same standards as your friend. maybe that's the same all over. but pa definitely needs teachers so she's gonna get something.

hijack: thanks for the 'covered by night' tip. have you read 'into the american woods' by merrill? this is an amazing book. I've been obsessed with george croghan of late, and this one pushed me into it to the point that i'm friendly with the owners of his cabin in camp hill.

why not? im from philly. it has extremely distinct proper syntax and meanings ssociated with it. in fact it's complicated slang and it exists for good reasons!

jawn originated at least in the 1970's and it might not even be philly-based. but in philly you grow up with it.

I heard from a longstanding business owner in Gettysburg that the guy who bought the property just flat-out ran out of money. I heard this like 3 months ago.

and there's always getting hired by small towns to look forward to. our chief got canned by PA for racism and I guess we got a good deal.

your next step is to buy it for back taxes, bring in outside investors, begin distilling PA corn mash whiskey, hire a few decent, local imaginative chefs and you're in business.

lititz. I'm in abbottstown, 15 miles east of Gettysburg. we love it, but you gotta love rural living here. I'm from philly, I have good taste, lititz is your best bet if you can afford it.

I'm with you. it's like, have you been to our woods? I told a ranger two days ago that I got chased for like a quarter mile by a bobcat some years ago. he hadn't heard anything like that before, but it happened to me in black moshannon. so much goes on out here unreported and disbelieved.
