Reply to Advice to stream NAS Flac to an HP ampli by dioverme
I don't own Synology NAS, but I have read some about it a while ago and understand what capabilities it has. IIRC you can install media server plugin to it and have it stream media files to upnp or dlna capable devices. I had a brief look at Synology's knowledge center on how to do that and I believe you need something in the middle if you need to connect to fiio k7 or k9. In simple term, you need a media renderer to output to your amp. A mobile phone would work or something like Raspberry Pi /SBC if you are a DIY type.

To kick off, let me share my recommendations:
- Charlie Gabriel and Hall Preservation Jazz Band - 89
- Hermanos Gutierrez - you can check out their performance on last month NPR Tiny Desk
- Gogeum Records - A S. Korean label focusing on tradional music. Among the artists, I would like to recommend 2nd Moon album.
- Phazzadelic - aka De-Phazz, a (club, lounge) jazz band/label
You can also check some from my past post.
EDIT: Fixed Hermanos Gutierrez's link per u/danadam's notice. Thanks!

Now that we know how your devices are connected to your pc, you don't need a switch box. Soundswitch will cover your audio output change. HDMI switch is also available for purchase, but I am guessing your pc has multiple video outputs.
If you know a bit of scripting, you might want to look into AutoHotkey which allows you to execute tasks via script by binding them to hotkeys. An example of what you were looking for is found here. Good luck!

1-in to 3-out, right? Usually those kinds of switches are either button push like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Audio-Switcher-Selector-Splitter/dp/B07Q1W4484 or knob like this one: https://www.amazon.com/PROZOR-Bi-Directional-Channel-Splitter-Selector/dp/B099WMC1DJ, I am currently using both because I use one dac with multiple outputs: hp amp, speaker amp, and tube amp. And I used the other one when I want to compare several cans. I have yet to find one that you can use with remote control. If everything is connected to your pc, then u/dezas35's suggestion is worth looking into.

Okay... Now, I understand what you really looking for. You want something that supports full-duplex/bi-directional. Then in that case, these two would not satisfy your need. You might want to consider finding a dongle or bluetooth pc card that supports full-duplex/bi-directional.

I suppose. I put one of my phones in a string bag as well, but I still put a pack of silica gel in it as a precaution.

It is alright if they are dry, but if they are not, having silica gel packs in there helps in absorbing the moisture.

If you have some silica gel packages lying around, put a couple or so in there.

Reply to How to determine whether certain DAC/amp can drive iem or headphone with planar driver by mofankri
Use the headphone power calculator like this one here (there are several online):
https://www.headphonesty.com/headphone-power-calculator/
and the compare it to the output of the dac you are interested in to see whether the said DAC can drive the cans.

On the side of this sub under the heading "Useful Resources", there is Glossary of Audio Terms for you to start with.
frazum t1_it4szmx wrote
Unless you train yourself to listen for the differences or are an audio engineer, you won't be able to tell the difference. In my experience, I would have to turn the sound up to notice the difference between high quality compressed (lossy) and uncompressed (lossless) sound.
In terms of headphones, aside from price, know what kind of sound signature you like is the first step. Next. find a store you can go to audition them. Finally, I'd pay attention to comfort, built(materials used) and durability. If you hang around this sub long enough, you will notice that many like the humbly priced Koss' cans.
Good luck finding ones that you'll enjoy!

If you have a spare phone or tablet, you can hook it up to K7 and stream your audio that way. For example in android I am using YAACC and UAPP app to stream from moodeaudio (audio streamer and player running MPD) to my phone.
Basically, after you install media server plugin on synology nas, it will show up on the apps I mentioned as UPnP/DLNA server. With the phone/tablet connected to K7 you can serve your audio files to it. Try this with your phone without having to buy K7 first. With an app like UAPP, you can access your NAS via ftp, sanba, or webdav interface and serve your files that way too.
