I have a WWIi canvas satchel that is just about to die. I've owned it for 22 years, and bought it to replace one I bought in 1988 that got stolen.

My Danners are 12 years old. Having a good cobbler helps.
Can also second the recommendation for Allen Edmonds, longest lasting dress shoes I've ever owned.

Power tools. I haven't bought a power tool in a little over a decade now. Will eventually need a new reciprocating saw because mine got stolen, but my Dewalt cordless tools are all from 2007, except my regular drill which is from 2003. Third-party batteries for the win.

Chrome messenger bag with a padded sleeve for the laptop itself. The bag will outlast his next dozen laptops.

I have a few 20 year old nalgenes, and let me tell you, I abused the hell out of them. They were my main water bottle (also had a dromedary bag) on a cross country walkabout. Used them with Paracord to throw lead lines for everything from bear bags to climbing rope which basically meant me chucking them all over the place as a weight. Today, my 12 year old son took one to school with him.
I have never ever had one break, a lid break, and only once had the lid strap crack on one. Probably to most indestructible things I own.

Replace the motor with a hand crank. Is an old hack, probably videos online on how to do it. It's the motor that is going to die, not the grinder.

This is actually solid advice. There is a brand of sparkly water that comes with the same ceramic and rubber style lid, but it's a 1 liter bottle.i normally use them for BBQ sauce, but have one set aside for water from the soda stream so it doesn't go flat.

You can hammer clean canteens back to flat on the bottom. Just set the mouth on a piece of wood. (I have a kid who isn't as good at flipping them as he thinks)

I asked in /r/mensfashion and got turned into Allen Edmonds. My oldest pair is going on 11 years with two resoles and still look great. They are spendy, but compared to going through dress shoes every six months, I've probably saved a grand or more by now.

Had the same coat for years, gave it to a girlfriend who got it perfectly so the bottom edge just draped her ankles.

I'm at 20+ years with some of my DeWalt. As for routers, I hunted high and low for a particular model of Bosch from when they used all metal gearing. I'd love to say it's a BIFL item, but I've probably only put 40-50 total hours on it. Still runs like new, but practically is.

At work we have a running gift exchange wish list for secret santa ($50) which management also uses to buy us birthday presents. This year they got me a Masontops mason jar fermentation kit with glass weights and silicone toppers. I have been really impressed, and enjoy the hell out of it.
The only other item I have left on the list is a Himalayan Salt Cooking Block.

Those are great! For a little upgrade, or basket style gift, add a Swisstech Multitool Keychain and/or a CRKT P.E.C.K, I've had both of mine for over a decade. (Can't say the same about my tweezers, as I have no idea if I have them or not, haven't seen them since half way through COVID)

Hahahaha. Had one back in the 80s. Lasted six months before we threw it out because it is bad at it's job. Wouldn't open lots of cans, but worse was that it would drop the cans from cabinet height when about half way open.
