Lincoln has 80 miles of trails

The only surrounding town that would reasonably apply to is Lincoln. If they lost the commercial space next to the train they'd have none left. I don't know that the legislation can force the cities/towns to build mixed use but that's been their plan for years. Everything got put on hold until the details shake out.

There's only one now, but that is enough to need to comply with the law.

There is literally not zero affordable housing in Lexington. Not enough, I'd agree with that. But not zero as you claim. Unless you are using the term affordable in a non technical sense, in which case most places aren't affordable around Greater Boston.

Anyway, it seems like the company bought up a property as a contingency plan for access. They apparently were in negotiations with the City of Cambridge to use an existing path off Trapelo but they fell apart. Lots of detail in the Appeals Court case. Tough situation, the construction will be incredibly disruptive and the company took it to court when other alternatives for access were possible.
