The real scam is Arcadia purports to be a generator of clean energy. In reality, they are purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) on your behalf - basically paying actual clean energy generators to generate the electricity they would have produced anyway.

To be fair, $24M is being spent by the State for the museum. The article doesn't say the remaining money is coming from, but usually there are corporate sponsors for this sort of thing. I agree there needs to be more transparency who is funding all these trips and remainder of the construction.

Context is important here. They are just starting work on one building now. The two VYV towers are part of the plaza redevelopment and there was quite a bit of time between even those two. So yes, there will be some immediate construction, but I wouldn't worry about the rest of the plaza going up anytime soon.

If you can't get solar panels put on directly to your home, check out community solar. You basically get the panels installed somewhere else, and the power generated gets net-metered off your PSEG bill. We used Solar Landscape and our panels are on top of a warehouse in North Bergen. The rest of your units are probably starting to go too, but the whine is probably not louder than the fans yet. A combustion chamber is a few hundred to replace plus the service call. At 15 years old, you're nearing the end of its life expectancy, so I would think you're better off replacing it. Islandaire makes a drop in replacement that is significantly quieter.
