Sabor a Mexico has a great special on Mondays for birria tacos; we’ve tried a couple in town and theirs are the best (plus all the sauces you get). Rico Taco Mex is also delicious but I recommend picking up in person; delivery app experiences have been mixed. Los Gueros is a chain but I’ve only enjoyed eating from this location and their taco Tuesday special can’t be beat. Get their salsa verde and an order of nachos too!

Agreed. I started off - on my own - with $60k but that’s when you could find a decent apartment in the northern suburbs for less than $1500/mo. I had car/student loans and was basically paycheck to paycheck and had no savings. These days with housing as expensive as it is, there’s really no margin for error or extravagance.

Clark traffic circle - specifically the left turn to get onto Central Ave from the middle of the circle. There’s 2 left turn lanes, but only one (in the middle) takes you to Central Ave; the leftmost one brings you back around the circle. Like 95% of the cars in the leftmost one will cut you off under the bridge so they can get onto Central Ave. Its so dangerous and so predictable but it’s been like a decade and no one has done anything about it.

For $500 a month (I’m assuming you meant monthly), that better include property taxes, otherwise before you even pay principal and interest, you’re probably going to be paying at least $1k a month. Most of the properties in our budget that I see on Zillow are HOA townhouses/condos, and the expenses the fees cover are never worth it. Unless you plan on staying for 15+ years, I’d think twice about buying into a community with HOA fees that high. I certainly wouldn’t want to buy it from you.

The last thing you want to do is take benefits you no longer qualify for due to your increase in income. You could be liable to reimburse the state for that, amongst other things. You should be proactive and reach out when you start your job. You may not qualify anymore but you could possibly qualify for a subsidy to buy insurance on the marketplace, and the loss of Medicaid could be a qualifying event to do so outside of open enrollment.

We tried an OBGYN and a primary care doc. So not the hospital itself but they have all these providers in their network. I thought that would mean something for the quality of care but both providers were terrible at patient care and office management - like you’d call one and lines were forwarded to the doc’s personal cell, which was never answered, or the office would be closed when you had an appointment and no one bothered to call in advance to reschedule. Patient care itself was unacceptable - test results wouldn’t go up on the portal and bedside manner was completely inappropriate.

I’ve seen the good and the bad when it comes to large medical practices and agree I don’t see a problem if they do it well. The more convenient and accessible healthcare is, the more likely people are to seek it out before things get too bad.

Hackensack Meridian is a joke - the providers we’ve seen there have been awful and the “portal” is non-existent. Customer service has also been lacking when I’ve complained.

I’ve certainly had my issues with Summit Health over the years but I’ve never doubted the care I get through them. If an issue comes up where I need a specialist, they’ve connected me directly to their offices and I don’t lift a finger til they call to make an appointment. I can also make appointments and ask questions thru the portal and get doctor’s notes online.

From the NJT website - “Only service animals accompanying customers with disabilities or their trainers, police dogs, and small pets in carry-on travel cages are allowed on-board NJ TRANSIT trains, buses and light rail vehicles”

If it’s you’re only way home and you don’t have a carrier, guess you’re gonna have to do what you have to do. But I have seen conductors chew out passengers who did not have their dogs in the proper carriers and threaten that they have to get off at the next stop. So you’d basically be rolling the dice if it may happen to you. And you’d be asking for trouble on a crowded train so test your luck during off peak hours.

I’m only in my 30s but i get very “when I was a kid…” and upset about how Halloween is now like a month long event. Why are there Trunk or Treats a week before Halloween? How can a town just change the holiday and force trick or treating on a weekend because it’s more convenient? And a very safe suburb next to me has a curfew in place tomorrow night starting at 7pm, unless you’re accompanied by an adult. Now if you’ll excuse me there’s some kids I have to tell to get off my lawn 😂

When we had to go back in person I set my hours from 8:30-4:30 thinking I could “beat” traffic. I leave at 7:30 and I’m lucky to even be in my garage at 8:30 these days. Driving home isn’t much better. But I don’t know if it would make a difference to change my hours since even when I leave to go home after 5, traffic’s just as bad.
