Daikaya is owned by the same restaurant group as Haikan. The menus and concepts are different though. The ramen bases at both spots are different as are the noodles.

I used to work for the company and because of that am definitely biased but even if they don’t offer some of the most popular styles of ramen (because they don’t match the concepts) their noodles are top tier. Each restaurant has a specific spec that is produced specifically for them by Nishiyama. If I’m getting ramen in DC it’s at one of the Daikaya spots (haikan, bantam king, Hatoba) or Menya Hosaki

I also went here. The staff was great. Got all 4 removed, 2 were impacted. Zero issues. I could have gone back to work that day if I wanted to. I had almost zero swelling/soreness the next day

Snowmageddon was early February 2010. I don't remember when the 2016 blizzard was but I feel like it was the last week of January at the earliest. I'm not getting my hopes up but I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if we get hit with snow sometime in the next 2 months

They likely have the best in DC

A lot of people from Memphis have posted on the bigger threads that the chief of police is directly responsible for creating the special unit that the 5 cops were on and she’s firing/charging them as more of a political move than anything. The unit is called SCORPION and apparently has received lots of complaints from brown/black neighborhoods that they are aggressive and go out of their way to intimidate. If this was just caught on police body cam the footage would never have seen any publicity. A major part of why the public knows about this is that a security camera caught the full incident. In the security camera video you can see the moment they notice the camera and the demeanor of everyone completely changes

I’m biased because the owners are friends of mine but the burger is one of my top 3 in DC. The chef who developed it previously worked at Le Dip and we’ll say this one is “heavily inspired” but a single patty is like $15 instead of $24
