Laurel park has great land value. Would be great homeownership candidate.

That’s Fight Blight Bmore. Media really pushes that organization is voice of disenfranchised communities but it’s a lot of talk and not enough good policy.

You can always call DPW at 410-396-4180 and request for details of the work performed and or pictures.
The office is far from perfect , equitable, or fair.

I’ve never heard of this 180 limit. I received my homestead years after my title was issued to me. So did many others I know.

It’s pretty trash the appeal process. How they appraise the land value of an adjacent lot higher than the other is crappy. I guess it’s suppose to be a progressive tax. Charge the gentries more.

I just had a picture of poor work and an invoice for someone to go back and fix poor work. It’s a judge, so it’s not a hard standard. You just convince one person. If he didn’t have insurance he wouldn’t have a license. Permits were pulled as well but the judge didn’t really ask for that because it probably wasn’t relevant to the fact he didn’t do a good job.

I never had an investigator physically come to the property. You just submit proof with your claim. Pictures and invoices. They will schedule a court case and the award amount will be paid out of the guarantee fund.

MHIC does cover quality of work, I know because I received a claim based off the scope of MHIC poor workmanship clause.

I don’t see anything in his scenario that would exempt him from a valid MHIC complaint.

I have filed. Sounds like a solid case, I don’t know his defense how ever. Just collect the evidence. If you have documentation from other licensed contractors that the workmanship was poor should be an easy case. However expect some time to get a court hearing and actually get your money back.

Maintaining or replicating trim or wood windows on front facades have no structural effect. Just maintaining the front facade and underpinning with cinder blocks or wood framing. There’s grants for these type of projects as well.
I think residents are purposely mislead into thinking preservation is more difficult than it is to allow agencies to have discretion for demolition. If non developers knew everything could be preserved and isn’t cost prohibitive the political pressure to keep architecture would be too great to overcome.

This narrative that building that are standing can’t be savaged is ridiculous. You put braces up and underpin doesn’t take a world renowned developer to oversee a project like this.

Agree. C4 and Brian are great. Kim and Snow are trash, not because they are further right but because they have weak talking points and no depth in their analysis.
