According to Our World In Data, the global population growth rate peaked in the late 1980s. It will take several decades beyond that for the absolute number to also peak. It's crazy that some people living today will see a day when the global population will peak when we've been fed about population overload for so long.

I'll give you one: Championships in this city, in general, are rare. Sure this century we had a few appearances and 2 wins (Phillies 2008, Eagles 2018) but before 2008 it was a full 25 years since any major professional sport team here won their championship (1983 76ers). That's quite some time for the 6th (5th?) largest city in the US & a city with teams that existed as long as ours have.

Aren't we getting these a bit late (as in 20+ years)? It would've been nice having these countdown clocks back before virtually everyone had some sort of smartphone/tablet/etc. Nowadays Transit App, CityMapper, Google Maps, etc all have some sort of interface showing when the next few departures are (often even updated to real-time). Can SEPTA do better than those already-existing apps? Maybe the money would be better spent investing in things that ensure people to not be afraid to ride the system?

  1. Open Transit App.
  2. Click the gear icon.
  3. Click the icon that appears to have 2 lines: one with a circle on the left and the other with a circle on the right.
  4. Scroll down to 'My transit modes' then click Bus.
  5. Tick 'SEPTA Bus Revolution' and untick 'SEPTA'.
  6. Go back and the new routes will now show up.
  7. To revert to current routings, repeat these steps but instead tick 'SEPTA' and untick 'SEPTA Bus Revolution'.

Transit App allows you to check how your journeys will change with the new routings. Switch the app the display Bus Revolution and you'll see the new routes. You can program start and end locations and it'll show the journey. My commute for instance will now have a transfer when before it was a 1-seat ride. Other people may experience the opposite.

Is this place still around? Maybe too small but several of my relatives who weren't exactly rich opted for: Yerkes Wedding Salon (267) 341-7318 https://maps.app.goo.gl/CzAZkw7P1MJgcnvH8

Don't know the details though about the venue as it's been decades since I was last there and unsure how things are now in COVID/post-COVID times. I don't know much about wedding venues so I wonder if Yerkes might actually be too cheap/small.
