I think they're kind of cute in a "what the hell is this evolutionary abomination and why is it snarling at me?" Kind of way.

I was drinking with a cop once who got in an accident outside the bar. The owners got questioned by Internal Affairs who took the security tapes and everything, so they do take it seriously.
Whether or not he got off with a slap on the wrist or not, couldn't say.

PTA is technically an arrest without bail I think? Not sure, law isn't my specialty but I have been arrested for traffic related shenanigans. Without going into too much detail reckless driving was ONE of the charges, but also a couple of other fun ones, none of which were intoxication, so I'm not entirely sure which one got me collared.

I'm not sure about that. Going that fast gets you a reckless driving charge. Not sure if they'll arrest you, but you've graduated from a ticket to a misdemeanor.

My astrophysics is not nearly as well informed as I'm sure many are here, but the nice thing about space is that it's infinite. With infinite space and stars and planets and moons I'm sure it exists.
... but generally speaking, because of how fast everything moves and the fact that gravity would dictate the two also pull on each other, so they should collide, that possibility is probably stupid low.
But hey, it was once thought binary stars were impossible, turns out they're actually pretty common, the rule book gets thrown out on stuff like this every time we make a better telescope.

The closer one for the visit, the larger for settlement (slightly better gravity conditions)

On the topic of moon collision, I don't imagine that being necessarily true... or, at least, not on a timeline even remotely significant to human existence. But, like, several planets have multiple moons that seem to be fine. I do think it might screw with tidal locking though, but again idk

Seriously, I think a lot of people in this discussion are overlooking the fact that waste at its core could be a resource.
We're far from this being a problem, but eventually in a multi planet society we might have to start considering the impact of planetary erosion. Everything from industrial waste to human waste being transported off planet is elements of the periodic table being removed from what was a closed system.
Again, scale comes into play: it would take a long time and tremendous amount getting off world, but I think writing off any potential exploitation of resources to the point of exhaustion should be taken seriously. Just ask the world's fresh water supply...
Edit: This is also why I think mining asteroids should be higher on our list than settling Mars. Not to mention spinning up a NEO industry would make planetary travel a lot easier.

I liked Molloy but I understand I'm a minority in that shrug. I'm not big into the political scene but all of the transit programs he started are something that have had a direct positive impact in my life.

Fair. I think it's still vast enough for a pair of moons to be bumping uglies sonewhere
