Not worth hiring an attorney, basically the first time you go in you'll be talking to the court magistrate and a representative of the police dept who will read the police report. If you can't convince the court magistrate you didn't commit the offense you can pay another $50 to take it to actual court and at that point the cop has to show up otherwise you're off.

That number is pretty close to my household income, we live in Westfield.

Reply to Chicopee has a death rate from traffic violence that's 2-3 times higher than the rest of Massachusetts, and drivers there have killed 8 victims – most of them pedestrians – since September: by streetsblogmass
Chicopee is weird, I lived there for 3 years and while everything about my experience there was pretty solid something about the town always just felt a little off. That city also has some of the most poorly planned intersections ever, my old house was 1.8 miles from the pike exit and it took 10-15 minutes every time because of endless timed lights with no sensors.

Reply to Should I move here? by [deleted]
The weather sucks and proximity to Boston has made the property values high despite not having a ton of opportunity unless you want to commute to the Boston area. I moved out to the Springfield area and like it more. Springfield is kind of a shit hole don't get me wrong but the surrounding towns are nice and property is somewhat affordable here in comparison to Worcester.

Oof sorry to hear about all of that, we started in spring 2021 and feed has gone from 16-18 in that span, which compared to other inflation I've seen isn't too bad. We always buy it at a local place nearby called Westfield feed, if you're in the area there's also one called Easthampton feed owned by the same folks. Luckily we haven't had any issues with them eating their eggs and we're still getting at least 3 a day out of 5 birds although that will go down to 2-1 in the dead of the winter.

We started with 6, unfortunately one got snatched by a hawk but we still have 5 going strong close to 2 years later. Raising chicks requires a lot more attention than maintaining chickens and obviously building a coop/run took time and money but now that we're set up it's very easy and they're pretty cool to hang out with.

Yeah it was my wife's idea, but I've grown to love them. Now that we have a huge run set up it's like clockwork, definitely was some work raising them from chicks and building everything, but I had fun with it.

Definitely glad we started raising chickens a few years ago, outside of the initial cost and labor of setting up a coop it's really easy and feed prices seem to be steadier than human food prices.

That's totally fine, anyone who gets mad because someone is using the passing lane to pass cars a little slower than they'd like is a dildo. This is about those who aren't passing anyone at all who seem to not understand there is a difference in function between the 2 lanes.

Yeah I take the pike and/or 91 every day and you're going to go crazy if you don't just get over it. Trust me I hate them too but after years and years of wanting those people to die it didn't really get me anywhere and I feel I'm a happier person since I learned to get over it.

Reply to What's the Western MA Market Basket Equivalent? by TittyMongoose42
There's no equivalent, I've been living all around the pioneer valley the last 12 years searching with no luck. Big Y and stop and shop suck but unless you have a good local grocer those and discount places like price rite are your options.
Market basket is the only thing I will ever miss about eastern MA.
