I think the hype of this movie has oversold it with some people. I saw it early on and was blown away, but for people who’ve been told it’s the best movie ever for months I can see how it doesn’t live up.

Agreed OP. I read the preface for Moby Dick and it spoiled exactly what happens in the climactic scene. I get that a lot of people know the ending, but I feel like you can illustrate the themes and motifs of the book without specifically mentioning the ending. It should be easy enough to allude to it vaguely

Laughing together with people is fun. You don’t have to do it that way but it’s a good option. Watching it by yourself is also a good option if that’s what you’re into
