It's more surprising that they don't have a supervisor standing there watching them shuffle the cards and load the shoes to be sure they aren't manipulating them.

As well as even allowing employees to gamble. You can't gamble at foxwoods if you work there, you need to go to Mohegan sun if you want to gamble and vice-versa.

In this case since the same company does both draftkings and FanDuel they shouldn't be able to use either platform.

A step in the right direction would be a law that all single family homes and occupied condos must be owned by an individual or an estate planning trust, not a business.

That would help the situation with investors scooping up properties to flip or rent out as well as taking properties off the market to be used as short term rentals.

Psychedelics like mushrooms and lsd being illegal is unconstitutional IMO as it is government restricting the constitutional right to freedom of religion.

A psychedelic experience with spiritual intent brings you closer to "god" than going to church on Sunday.

Use of mushrooms in particular as a religious sacrament dates back thousands of years.

The problem is society as a whole hasn't embraced the concept and taught people that they are a spiritual tool, not just something to do to get high/fucked up.

There are also other legitimate medical uses such as curing alcoholism and treating PTSD, depression. It can help reset your brain/soul and bring you closer to overall well being.

Right..

Fuck these companies that don't care about their employees, there are plenty of other companies to work for that do.

Then they will complain that "no one wants to work" at their shitty jobs.

Snow is not as exciting with telework.

Between cellular hotspots and having a generator there is no excuse to not work due to a storm anymore.

It would be more exciting for it to be a real snow day.

Now I just get to work all day with loud kids in the background then spend the whole evening clearing the driveway and walks.

A lot of Colorado is a desert.

In northern states, all the lines are covered by trees. Many of them damaged from non-native invasive bugs that made their way over from Asia in shipping.

It doesn't take much high winds or ice coating for tree limbs to come down on power lines.

The power companies do try to trim trees constantly but it is inevitable that there will be outages whenever there are high winds or icy conditions.

I live in southern new England and any time we get sustained winds over 45-50mph with higher gusts it can lead to power outages that last several days to a week due to tree damage to the electrical grid.

I believe we have had 4 or 5 multi day outages in the past 7 years. It is not uncommon for us to get strong storms that are the equivalent of a tropical storm or a hurricane in the winter.

Exactly...

Let's blame the school department for using what little leverage they have to try to correct bad behavior.

It can't be the kids' own fault for not meeting behavior expectations in class.

Teach your kids to behave in school and they wouldn't get recess taken away.

Now what shouldn't be allowed is if a few kids acting up results in recess being cancelled for the entire class. Make just those kids go spend recess in the principals office.

... at least cardboard will break down naturally and is recyclable unlike most of the plastics that are not really recyclable regardless of it having a triangle on it.

Glass has no recycling value either because there is no market for it.

In RI they used to just grind up all the recycled glass and use it as fill for layer separation in the landfill because no one would buy it.

The best material for recycling is aluminum.

In general, recycling is myth.

Almost all of it just gets treated as trash anyway ever since China stopped accepting it. My recycling and trash gets dumped in the same truck, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it is just a farce and there is no divider in the truck to separate it.

The cost to refinance is nowhere near 30k. I think I paid like 5k to refinance around a 330k loan, and they can just roll the closing costs in to the loan of you don't have the cash.

How much money will they piss away on rent in 2-3 years?

The refinance would pay for itself vs a few months of renting.

I would pay cash or check if there was a higher rate to use a credit card.

Since switching to use cashheatingoil.com, it has been the same rate so I use a credit card to get the points for the purchase on a rewards card that I pay in full every month. Every couple of years I have enough points to fly my family somewhere on vacation for free.
