They kind of need to tell me how many license violation arrests they made if they’re going to “contrast” them with firearm arrests.

She also seems to have been (still is?) struggling with homelessness and having a lot of difficulty producing records to receive government services and holding on to a working cell phone. Ten years ago her daughter was caring for her. She seems to believe in some conspiracy fantasy involving Joan Jett, a dead police officer named Cedric Dixon, and a woman named Sharon Smiley who keeps zapping her face with some sort of psychic electricity.

Real estate is a big part of the picture too. NYC’s is the most segregated metro region in the US. If so many Black kids, Asian kids etc. weren’t all districted into the same schools, they wouldn’t be having such disparate experiences.

But to tackle that issue requires solving the housing crisis and NIMBYism, among other stumbling blocks…
