I can’t speak from personal piercing experience, but Pierre is a standup guy and all I’ve heard indicates he does excellent, professional, responsible work.

Be aware most rental places don’t do snow tires.
There are public transit options. They’re not great, but they exist; Google Maps or similar will give you the routes.

If the people you’re talking to understand “snowing to beat hell,” no reason you can’t say it. But there isn’t a local go-to that’s quite the equivalent of a “raining cats and dogs.” “Dumping” is a pretty close snow equivalent of “pouring” or “pouring rain.” I’ve always lived in snowy climates (here and in Canada) and mostly just use phrases like “snowing hard,” “coming down fast,” “piling up out there.”

indeed.com has a fair number of manufacturing jobs listed, some denoted as “urgently hiring” and many as “entry level.” I suspect the money is better at USPS, but it would get you off the road if that’s your issue.

USPS now wants absorbent material inside the Ziploc — I believe it’s if the container is more than 4oz but I might have the volume wrong. I’ve always used zip bags when sending syrup, but this last time they had me repack to add paper towels in the bag (not just in the box) before they’d accept it.

Red light running is relatively new here, at least at the levels it’s happening. I rarely saw this when I moved here 25 years ago. In the last 5-7 years, it’s really picked up. Honestly, I’ve assumed it’s a custom brought from elsewhere.
The longtime Vermont habit that blows my mind is passing on the shoulder (often through an intersection) when the car in front of them is turning left — without checking opposing traffic.

Philo Ridge is indeed wonderful; their dinner menu ran $65pp last summer (app/main/dessert).

For a 25-minute commute into Burlington, you’d have to be at the very northern edge of Addison County, which is possible, but it’s much less densely populated there. It’s perhaps more likely that you’d find something near Bristol or Vergennes, putting you more like 40-45 minutes out, or Middlebury, putting you more like 50-60. (Depending on time of day, weather, your willingness to do 60 vs 50 on Rt 7, and your luck with the dearth of passing lanes.)

This. Basin Harbor for Vermont resort; Lake George for a busier/more touristy experience. Or look at Colchester or the islands for lakeside lodging and drive a little for entertainment.

St John’s Club. I haven’t done it for weddings but for other events and it’s very affordable.
Sleepy Hollow in Huntington is probably a bit more than that but the accommodation package they offer might make it worth it. It was 6 years ago that we used it so I don’t have current deets.
Second CSC deck — it’s quite nice. Parking can be a little tight at the waterfront but should be doable.

If you’re looking for Vermont urban, stay in Burlington/eat there and Winooski.
For smaller-town Vermont, one option is Middlebury. If you don’t mind/would enjoy a little driving as part of the touristing, 10-25 min of driving would get you to some nice dinners in N. Ferrisburgh (Starry Night), Bristol (Tillerman or Bobcat), Vergennes (Black Sheep), Brandon (if Cafe Provence is still amazing). And there are a couple good lunch and dinner options in Midd itself.
