Might not agree with this one. My grandma still uses her travel agency and it's pretty nice. Sure she pays a bit of a premium, but she tells them exactly what she wants and they handle the rest. I've come to see them as a travel concierge type of service. If you're not a fan of endlessly comparing plane tickets and combinations of hotel stays, it's a good option.

Not that I'm defending them, but making a mistake these days is way less acceptable it feels like. People get put on blast so quick on social media for nothing at all, so imagine if your decisions actually affect the population.

And then years of nepotism and crappy management means we have bottom tier leaders in these organizations that don't have the vision and willpower to fight the current.

Sounds a lot like the argument that people use against minimum wage: "McDonald's isn't a real job, it's just for kids in high school"

I disagree with that fundamentally. All jobs should provide security for an adult if they wish to do it long-term. Otherwise you're building economies on top of exploiting workers who can't get better jobs, whether it's due to age, education, or simply where they were born. Expecting that there will be an infinite supply of people that can't do better is a really bad bet and ends up backfiring on countries that don't adjust (see Japan).
