Yeah for sure, that’s actually why I said “pretty ok” rather than “totally ok” since I do know that older generations still like to use them, but of course those generations are dying out slowly. I actually used a travel agent 11 years ago to help me set up the most efficient trip possible so I could be in certain cities on certain days in order to complete an around the world trip (with a prize involved) in 11 days. Definitely worth it to have an experienced human help me sort out something that was already a bit overwhelming.

Yes, but only after coming off the highway in Bridgeport. I was in an old Porsche (944 so nothing too fancy), and a cop pulled me over because of the no front plate but was nice and just gave me a warning. I ignored it and almost 20 years later the car still has no front plate. At the time my dad figured it was maybe a cop who suspected the car had been stolen, because I was coming from Fairfield in a Porsche, but who the heck knows. Pretty sure cops in Fairfield used to hang out by the Bridgeport border and go out of their way to pull over people of color who had just entered the town (Fairfield). This was something someone told me a long time ago. I’m white if it matters (probably mattered in the traffic stop)

Maybe be more subtle when you try to look at people. It sounds like he saw you turn to look while you were still in his field of vision. You always wanna have the appearance that you’re minding your own business, even if you’re sneaking a look.

Totally. Just last night I was walking home and some heavyset woman in her 30s or 40s sees me as I walk by and goes “oh my god.”… “OH MY FUCKING GOD!”

This was totally directed at my for god knows what reason and it was really fucking weird, but I just ignored her and kept walking. She left me alone. That’s basically all you have to do.

My guess is she was mentally ill, or maybe she incorrectly thought I was a celebrity or someone she knew.

I got a happy meal and a double cheeseburger w medium fries for like 13 the other night. Still pretty cheap but yeah it used to be cheaper. The food quality sucks though. Idk if it’s gotten worse or if I just never noticed before how bad it was.

But I tell you, there’s the most incredible chicken sandwich for 5 dollars at a place called Tiki Chick on the uws. So filling and such good quality. Pretty sure they’re made at Jacob’s Pickles and then are walked over to the tiki bar. JP owns the place so it’d make sense. You can get em to go or eat at the bar. I just can’t believe I can get a sandwich better than shake shack’s for 5 dollars. Also on the weekend their brunch menu has 5 dollar breakfast sandwiches and you can get a bacon egg and cheese on a donut.

Hey even with it closed it still attracts the worst kind. Like I was letting my daughter play at the playground next to it this summer and a lady is there with like 5 kids. Clearly not mother of the year with the way she speaks to them, and then she just begins smoking a joint. In a kid’s playground.

Omg exactly! So funny to know you’re in the area. We’ve probably walked by each other. I didn’t even hear it on the news, but when I suddenly heard cheering out of windows and in the street I knew, and ran out of my apt as well. So much joy and relief. I probably cried a little too.
