Reply to The coast with the most by gham1
It rains even more on the coast. And the geography is pretty rough out there generally speaking, with less open flat land and rockier coastlines. The coastal mountain ranges also don't help with access to the rest of the country.

Reply to Rivers of the World! coloured according to the major hydrological basins they are part of. [OC] by symmy546
The ones for the continents look great and maybe accurate but the ones for island nations look off and should've been of different colors. The one I'm knowledgeable of - for the Philippines, I can tell you that just the northern main island (Luzon), there should be different systems and not all of them are of the same drainage area. The map makes it look like all the rivers in an island are all connected to one another.

Because New Jersey wouldn't have gotten those teams if not for the proximity to NYC.

I'll take affordable over hyped donuts to overpriced "local" "artisan" old fashioned donuts any day.

I mean, our state did take the name of a rather famous city out east, not far from the Appalachians. What's another one.

One of my favorite hikes. Just wish they improved the road somehow so it doesn't take an hour to drive across 20 miles of dirt road. Then again, more people might just ruin a good thing, so maybe keep it as it is. π

You're very welcome. βΊοΈ I like to explore and go hiking, and I love to share the beauty of what I see whenever I can.
I have another post of this same hike if you want to see more pictures:
Nothing beats being there in real life though, so if you can and do enjoy hiking as well, then I highly recommend this trail. It's about 3 hours from Seattle, is 7.4 miles long, very steep but no scrambling, and really makes you appreciate the beauty of the Cascades and Washington State.

Going to the sun road isn't open until June/July depending on the snow still present. So it's doable but be prepared for a longer drive to go between places, and for some others to still be closed. I went in early June and I had a good time.
