More likely off duty police. Like literally every evening with private security uses off duty police.

Everyone does. The CIA had a project where they were trying to install spy equipment in a cat’s body in the 70s or 80s. A lot of spy craft takes advantage of what people refuse to take seriously. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t.

To some extent, yes.
At the start of last week, the idea of a balloon based spy technology was absurd and absolutely news worthy. In the worldview of the average person it would have been worthy of a punchline about Cuba or North Korean espionage.

Snowden didn’t “leak” anything. Everything he drew attention to was covered in the NY Times when the Patriot Act was passed. If people were unaware of the Five Eyes agreement that was because it works.
Besides, there’s no comparison. One is a national security program, the other is a video app with no legitimate social benefit.

The NSA doesn’t collect American data without a warrant.

The app collects way more data than even the worst offenders we're used to hearing about.

It’s not as if he was going to be anywhere but prison while it was being handled- he didn’t have free time for anyone to waste.

That’s always been the intent. The only reasons we experienced serious regulation the US were the Great Depression and the threat of global communist revolution.

I’m skeptical that it isn’t because whites are less likely to be charged with violent crime than black people.

Doesn’t mean drugs caused the event.
I could drug test the next 1000 people who walked into the neared JC Penny’s and the majority would piss positive for something.

Heroin isn't exactly conducive to the kind of physical activity that killing someone involves. To say nothing of a woman killing a man, which isn't physically easy sober.

Yeah unless she’s a lot bigger than she looks in the booking photo or the victim was unusually small, somebody helped her drag that body around.

Well by that argument there probably would never be a time you’d condone the reserve’s usage outside of war- which it isn’t usable for as it’s simply sold as crude on the open market for private refining. It is literally only used to impact prices.

I think ease of recall is also a factor in making these decisions- if people can’t remember what something is called they’re not going to develop behaviors to mitigate the threat of it.

Actually they were probably there to throw anyone out that got out of line. You can’t get 300 people together to drink and then just expect the local police department to handle any problems that occur on the taxpayer dollar.I mean you can, but it’s a great way to end up in court or legally liable if anyone dies driving home.
Having bouncers (that’s clearly what this is,) presents a legal defense for liability that shows you made a good faith effort to keep the party in line and avoid having anyone get hurt. That goes a long way towards establishing a legal defense. What if two guys get in a fight? If you don’t have bouncers to break them up, one’s gonna get hurt and he’s suing whoever threw the party.
This is no different from how a successful party bar is run, if anything it sounds like they were being fairly responsible. The biggest issue would be the legalities around booze.
