It’s only included because it’s 3*, if it was a BG or anything like that it’d be a VA restaurant and Washingtonian wouldn’t be claiming it as DC.

Proceeds to include a restaurant from Annapolis and one from Centreville.
Edit: And indeed Front Royal with IALW
Beltway or bust for these lists tbh, if you can't get there by Metro/Metrobus then it shouldn't be on it.

They've just taken last years list, thrown it in a randomizer and pushed a few of the well known ones up to the top, haven't they?
Le Dip at 24? L-O-L. Their media/comped meals budget must be gigantic.

Not a sub shop per se, but adjacent to it would be Earl's in Arlington. Always had a good, if expensive, experience there.

It's a poor experience but one I'd chalk down to them having an off night - definitely not worthy of a standalone post! As you see in the replies the majority (all) have had positive experiences with Alamo, myself included.
Btw - you'd don't need to downvote anyone who disagrees with you ;)

I mean I don't know how you expect them to take action after the fact? The ticket checking comment is bizarre - you're upset you could've presumably got in for free otherwise?

Just to fact check this from an Irish perspective: the growth you see in the NYT chart is from an already very low base. We have one of lowest death rates per capita in the world at 2.2/100k inhabitants. That's a result of focused policing, improvements in both cars and infrastructure and borderline zero tolerance for DUI.
Speaking as an ex-pat here, it blows my mind how accepted driving after a lot of drinks is over here - people think nothing of it.

Close in Amtrak bookings (< 4 weeks) are more expensive than flying these days on the NE corridor. You can't really do a spontaneous Amtrak trip to NYC/PHL.

Didn’t say that, but it’s strictly speaking not a DC restaurant. It’s not even a DMV restaurant, along with a bunch on that list.
I mean where do we stop? Delaware? West Virginia? Do we start claiming restaurants in downtown Manhattan?
