Eh that kind of outrage marketing often propells movies into being more popular. No such thing as bad marketing and all that.

I mean those movies definitely were a big part of my Christmas growing up. I'm very excited to see it revisited.

Kubrick kind of completely missed the point of Kings story and wrote his own shit instead with the shining as like the base outline. The point of the book was seeing the decline of Jack's mental state, and hiring jack Nicholson kind of went against that because he seemed kinda nuts to begin with.

I believe he also didn't like the way the stripped Wendy of most of her humanity and charecterizarion to make her the scared frail screaming lady

Kubrick version is a classic in it's own right but it's entirely understandable why King would be upset with it.

Hereditary made me more sad than anything and put the feeling of like a pit in my stomach

I disagree. I think if they allow him to grow and become a new version of the charecter and hold out a bit it would only make their reunion that much more impactful

Also Lord of the rings has a much shorter barrier of entry than Game of Thrones does

They cancelled Kidding which I'm still sad about
