The RV campgrounds usually have a few campers they rent. Getting anyplace for one night is going to be tough. Try Moose River or Sugar Ridge (in Danville).

Reply to Beware of Norovirus! (stomach bug) by cpujockey
Ugh, it went through my family several years ago and it's no fun at all. Note that Norovirus is spread primarily through touch as opposed to COVID which is spread primarily through the air. Mask and gloves? Might as well go skiing.

I'm not in a hurry, especially with conditions like that. If you can't let go of the frustration of being stuck behind traffic that's moving slower than you'd like, how can you deal with the real frustrations in life?

We absolutely do have the crazy Republicans here and they run the Vermont Republican Party. The outgoing chair, Deb Billado, is a hard-core Trumper and I'm not sure the incoming chair, Paul Dame, is any better. It's hard to believe Phil Scott is a member of this party.

You're right. I'm also wrong about Indian Giver, I've always understood it as a gift that is taken back, not the expectation of a reciprocal gift. Thanks for correcting me.

Indian Summer ("Indian" is a slur here, meaning liar, as in Indian Giver) refers to a warm spell in late fall. I've lived in Vermont for more than 50 years and "believe" in climate change, as if someone has to believe in something so obvious and proven. That said, the weather in Vermont is highly variable. I remember snowy early 1970s winters and a couple of non-winters in the 1980s. That snowmaking has been a necessary part of ski area operation for decades demonstrates that every winter isn't a postcard perfect Vermont winter.
I'm glad this has been a mild winter (ignoring last weekend) because that has reduced the cost of home heating, which has skyrocketed and is a huge burden for many people. The skiing and outdoor recreation has been pretty good too -- I spent yesterday snowshoeing through 3-4' deep snow on Laraway Mt. It may not look like winter where you are, especially if you're near the lake, but it definitely is in the woods. Enjoy the warm weather this week, who knows what the following week will bring.

I only ate (and drank beer of course) there once or twice before it closed. It might be one of the few exceptions to the rule that huge menu = very mediocre food.

Schilling in Littleton is the best brewery in the state and should have a higher profile regionally and nationally. Very few breweries are capable of producing excellent beers in a broad range of styles. Schilling turns out great modern (Resilience brand) and central European styles.

I offered some possible reasons, not an opinion. I don't know if you can co-locate cell antennas and wind turbines; anyway, large-scale wind projects appear to be dead in Vermont.
I do have an opinion, though, the state should prioritize bringing broadband internet service over cable/fiber to rural areas way ahead of cell service.

Some possibilities: 100 ugly cell phone towers and the access roads needed to build and service them, ongoing subsidies to attract operators, other/better uses for $51 million.

My grandmother lived her entire life in St. Johnsbury and Danville. At one Danville Fair late in her life, she remarked that the World War II veterans in the parade reminded her of seeing the Civil War veterans in a parade when she was young.

Fairbanks Museum, Atheneum, Dog Mountain (if you need to cry), History & Heritage Center, Mt. Pleasant Cemetary. If you're thirsty, Red Barn (Danville), St. J Distillery, Whirligig, Schilling (Littleton). Stock up on cheap(er) liquor in NH, that's what the locals do for fun.
