Is there a coffee roaster nearby? Zeke's in Lauraville smells kinda like burnt popcorn and sometimes you can smell it for a mile.

You should know, the court won't evict you from a property that is not inspected. You should look into putting your rent in escrow until he makes repairs.

Frozen pipes seem likely after last night's single digit temps. If you have access to the service in the basement, there may be a hose bib where it comes into the house. Open that gently and see if there's water coming into the house. If not, the problem is outside. No water is worthy of an emergency plumber call, don't let the landlords tell you otherwise.

Sorry if this came across as too personal. I just think far too many people think recycling is all they have to do to offset their impact. I'm far from perfect, just trying to spread useful information.

Sure, I put plastic in the recycling bin too. But the plastic industry has promoted recycling to make people feel ok about buying one use crap because it can theoretically be recycled. In reality only clean #1 and #2 plastic actually has any chance of really being recycled. Far too many people throw any kind of plastic, clean or dirty into the bins. It's called wishcyling. The manufacturers need to be held accountable for the waste, and stop pushing the cost onto consumers and the government. Single stream recycling is a feel good scam that results in less material actually being recycled.
