I believe Papa Bush lived (at least for the last part of his life) in Tanglewood, also very upscale, but over in the Galleria/Uptown area. All the boys in ZZ Top grew up in that neighborhood, though I don't think it was as upscale then as it is now.

Enron evil doer Jeff Skilling lived in River Oaks before it all went bust. I believe prosperity gospel preacher Joel Osteen lives in River Oaks.

Honestly, not sure it's a neighborhood I'd want to live in if I could afford it.

Network sitcoms tend to have sucky pilot episodes. They're often awkward and choppy. That's why I usually give a network sitcom a few episodes.

[That being said, the pilot episode for 'Animal Control' was surprisingly good for a network sitcom pilot - might of helped that they borrowed the opening from a classic 'This American Life' segment.]

Not sure if it is obscure or not, but back when I was in middle school I had read "Collusion Course" by Nigel Hinton and it's just an old read I think about from time to time.

There's another book that I remember reading back then, but not sure of the title, I think it might be "My Name is Asher Lev" by Chaim Potok, but not sure.

Your comment reminded me of this old incident involving giant rabbits that were meant to set up a breeding program to help alleviate famine in North Korea:

"Bunny boiler: Kim Jong-il ate my giant rabbits"
