That’s adorable! Can you go in it and do they use it for anything or is it just for show?

Never understood wanting to put up Xmas stuff so early. How is reducing the specialness of this time of year enjoyable?

it's not xmas stuff, it's non-denominational holiday decor

Santa’s house isn’t Christmas related?

Ralph R. Santa has nothing to do with Christmas and this is a picture of his house.

Ah ok I see. The house painted in Christmas colors, with a wreath hanging above it, being posted about during the holiday season, and with a big sign on the side that says “Santa’s Hours” and “Have you been naughty or nice?” has nothing to do with Christmas.

Thanks, I wouldn’t have known I was wrong otherwise :)

partially joking, year is 2022, you're hardly allowed to say christmas anymore without mentioning other holidays or you have to say "end of year holidays" and why are you getting downvoted lol yah xmas sh*t gets put out earlier every year, it's a meme at this point

It sure as hell looks better than all of the political signs that deface our communities during the entirety of autumn.

Also, it's Thanksgiving week. A lot of people start decorating this weekend anyways.

Santa isn't real. Don't start your kid's life off by a lie. Teach them to trust you. Teach them that magic doesn't exist and neither does religion. Teach them truth.

I'm not wrong. Lying to your kids is detrimental to their social development.

I’m guessing you were lied to often 🤣

I was. Religious parents are terrible. Thankfully I grew up with the internet and was able to figure out that religion and magic is bullshit and that science is the best tool we have fairly early on.

Science and religion aren’t contrary to each other, they go hand in hand.

Negative captain.

Science is based on evidence. Religion is based on faith.

It sounds like you are inappropriately grouping all religions into one.

1

t1_ixcqdiw wrote

No that's literally the definition of religion lol.

t1_ixctsf8 wrote

Only as much as it is the definition of science. You believe in science because you believe the evidence presented to you. Some people interpret that same evidence as proof of religion. They are one and the same.

t1_ixcub7j wrote

False. The evidence presented by science can be repeated and independently verified by a third party.

t1_ixcweqa wrote

Same with religion.

t1_ixcy3xl wrote

...No? If it's empirical and peer-reviewed it's no longer religion, it's science.

No. Santa is too powerful. The fear of getting coal on Christmas teaches kids to be responsible for their actions and comprehend the consequences of being naughty.
