could be the cop(s) ran the plate and knew who it was - maybe it was a kid or their parent(s) are a somebody - and decided to let them go, otherwise yah it's not terribly safe to have a high speed chase through the streets of simsbury where a bunch of families with kids live, I should say privileged and entitled families with overzealous helicopter parents who complain about anything and everything like if you fart too loudly in town after 9pm

garbage, poorly-worded, attention-seeking post; as others said it's probably due to more people being there right after train stops and due to train schedules and, unfortunately, possibly some homeless people using the restrooms. Wording and attention-seeking totally distracts from making a valid point that whatever # of stalls they have isn't enough... I really don't know why I'm replying to this, wasting my time....

yah I tried to suggest some of the responsibility or fault falls on pedestrians behavior on other posts but got tons of push back claiming it's solely due to unsafe, distracted or bad drivers, and you're right, there are blind corners, people who step right out into traffic with no signal, notice or anything; not saying this is the cause but it is definitely a factor people need to stop denying

You're right, my answer is unjustly snide and a bit harsh, in a more innocuous joking rather than hurtful way; I have no hate for Guy, hell I used to enjoy him on DDD. Imo his diet, public persona plus ostentatious and showy signature style erodes and partially undermines his credibility as a food guru. And his flavortown mall and delivery based restaurants just aren't good, sorry. His charity work and helping others is a totally separate topic and is mostly unrelated to his credibility and competence as a food critic; I see him as more a grandiose personality, celebrity and entertainer versus a truly knowledgeable food critic or chef like gordon ramsay.

he became famous eating low grade slop at greasy spoons talking like Billy Mays in an late night infomercial while wearing sunglasses indoors and sporting frosted tips well after their popularity faded in the 90s... Guy's fast food restaurants are hardly a step above burger king quality. Not exactly the most reputable foodie celeb, and we're supposed to jump up and take note of his "favorite" restaurant in CT... yah I'll have to "go there soon"

this isn't a list of places open on christmas, it's an ad for their catering services and christmas dinners, one would have had to cal and make reservations well before xmas day, i think OP is looking for a place they can just walk in, without reservations, and have a meal, very few places on the list qualify

"best italian food" is always debateable, what are you looking for? casual sit down? date night place? fancy/trendy? any particular regional food because northern and southern italian varies quite a bit... anyway I see a lot of great places already suggested so I'll throw out a dark horse, Zina's Cucina in marlborough, maybe not the absolute best in ct but great for the area

buon appetito is pretty good, wouldn't say the best italian in ct, maybe avon/simsbury/canton area, the menu is a bit odd and outdated though believe food is made-to-order; chef-owner Hoa was head chef at Hot Tomatoes in hartford until it shut down around 2013ish

many towns have more tax revenue due to higher property valuations and greater property tax receipts despite statutory rates not changing; parents and ngos monies are in dependent of taxes, further towns should have some budget item, earmarked or not, to help fund these things; I'm not against them fundraising for it, there are just so many better options than begging strangers

internet grifter and beggar culture comes to the real world, everybody wants to socialize their costs onto others and take all the benefits for themselves then claim it's fair or acceptable; like who approves them sitting in front of the store entrance and begging...? but hey I always end up being the bad guy asking off-limits questions.... edit - why can't the parents/school/ngos pool their money for them? is there actually a cheerleading competition in orlando? did they make the cut? or do they just want a trip to orlando on everyone else's dollar? so many questions....
