I plan on moving to Connecticut this year. I failed my driver's exam in NY twice because of parking. I couldn't park the first time. The second time, I parked too far from the sidewalk and was lost on how to correct myself.
Unfortunately, I will be moving without a license, I will just have to start the process over in CT.
How is the transportation in CT?
I do plan on getting a vehicle in the future. I was thinking about moving to New Haven or West Haven. I originally wanted to move to Hartford, but you need a vehicle.

Them’s the bus routes. Metro North has a train line out of there from union station. Sidewalks will be mostly everywhere there; someone else will have to chime in about any bike lanes.
I hear ya on the vehicle thing. A lot of CT is inconvenient or exceedingly difficult to access without a car.

Major cities probably no problems.
Bus service in towns like New Haven , Hartford, Bridgeport have bus stops on just about every corner, there are ride shares, uber,Lyft cabs etc.
Smaller towns may be less options.
I live in New Haven. My girlfriend is not a driver, and has gotten around fine since 2019. However she’s also a grad student at Yale, so she has access to Yale shuttles that go around the city.
I personally would not want to live here without a car, but it seems possible particularly if you plan where you live well.
I live in New Haven without a car. The bus system in new haven/west haven/lower Hamden is decent. Investing in an ebike can also make a huge impact.
Technically you cannot operate an e-bike in CT without a valid drivers license.
I’ve lived car-light in the Hartford area for the last decade. Things are sadly car-centric, but the bus system goes where I need to go and bicycles make it a lot easier.
Invest in some lessons with a reputable drivers ed company. I did not drive for 10 years while living in MA, I was always near a train line, it’s a great place to live w/out a car. I decided to take some lessons to freshen up my skills since I was purchasing a car when I got to CT and would have to drive everywhere. It was nice having the option and helped me get over some reservations about driving again.

Bus system works within reason. If you’re far off the bus line, and need to get somewhere far off the line… that sucks thick ones.
CT is a car state, I don't understand how you would function without one.
I dunno about public transportation as I live in a town with one bus, no taxi service, and pretty sketchy Uber service. I would caution you to choose your city only after contacting their town hall to be sure you will be able to find ways to get around. I have never, since age 16, been without a car. Some were pretty crappy for sure, lol. But I think a car is an absolute necessity.🚗🚗🚗
"Non-drivers" is how I would describe most people with a license in this state.

I'm moving because I want to leave NY. Overcrowded and rent is too expensive.

Driving is not for you. You sound like those drivers I see in videos taking 15 minutes to do a k-turn on an empty street. Sorry!!!
Oh yeah, I bet the first time you drove a car you were an excellent driver then.
Some people just have a difficult time learning how to park correctly. It doesn't mean driving is not for them.
Try taking the exam again in CT our roads/parking is more spacious and less hectic. I can see how a first time driver would get scared taking their exam in NYC.
