Should be 'not a fan of connectives', which is what 'and' and 'or' are.

I teach logic. And it's really quite silly that I'm getting downvoted for stating an obvious truth.

But I'll say it again - a conjunction is a *kind* of connective - the one we mark with "And", or "but" or "however" or a whole lot of other words that *have the same function*. It connects two claims by *conjoining* them. That's why it's called a conjunction.

"Or" is a different connective. It's called a "disjunction".

You should check the dictionary, and you'll see that conjunctions are just what I say they are.

So you shoehorned in terms from formal logic on a joke about English grammar, didn't make it at all clear that that's what you were doing, and then are crying foul that people downvoted you for it?

In English grammer, "or" is a coordinating conjunction. This is what the joke was about: not formal logic terminology.
