Why would it not be trustworthy? It’s a published schedule from a state agency. Most disruptions to that schedule would be posted too

It's not like a whole train will go "nah not feeling it tonight bruh" train schedules are basically inviolable

Worst case scenario you miss it, go up the escalator and get a greyhound, they run all night and will drop you behind horseshoe casino

MARC isn’t like the bus system where they just disappear even though they’re listed. Unless it’s posted on the MTA twitter/social media that a train was cancelled it will run. It’s much more likely that a train is delayed than just cancelled unless there is another option to accommodate passengers.

To be fair most of the schedules published by the MTA are pure works of fiction. Just that the MARC ones seem to be accurate. Same can not be said for local bus, light rail, etc.

If you’re departing from Washington DC to Penn station, you can rely on the schedule will be on time (+ or - 10mins). Just be sure to be at the station a few minutes before the train actually is scheduled to depart.

Yes this is accurate and the train does run. I take it that late occasionally.

There’s also Amtrak and greyhound if you miss it.

Last Amtrak is before the last MARC I think unless you count the 3:30am one

I've taken it several times. Not regularly by any means, but 3 or 4 times in the last year. It's been running every one of those times on time.

It's reliable. Just don't be the guy running towards the train at 10:44 pm.

If you do miss the train, the Northeast Regional sometimes runs an Amtrak or two. Bit more expensive, but it'll get you home.

Except Amtrak. I’ve been left in bumfuck no where on a Sunday night by Amtrak after waiting 3 hours for the train to show before they say it’s canceled

The is a big difference between Amtrak on the Northeast Corridor vs elsewhere. Elsewhere, they get delayed by the miles long freight trains that are too big to pull off. That's not an issue on the Amtrak owned Northeast Corridor.

Nah. The freight train was only 30 min of the delay. The rest was them canceling the train for repairs or something.

Yeah i did it for a show in late January in DC. Had to leave during the last band's set but I was there to see the opener so it worked out. Got back to the station at 10:30 and the train left a little after 10:50
