My grandson and I went to the Dollar Tree store in Revere (Suffolk Downs) earlier today to grab a few Christmas decorations and other odds and ends.. I get to the register with all of my items and my debit card kept declining. I couldn't understand why so after about 3 tries I asked the cashier if I could just step to the side and call my bank, she agrees. I step to the side and have my back towards the register, the cashier calls over to me and says "its ok", I turn to apologize for the inconvenience and she again says "no, its ok this lady right here said she is willing to pay for your order." The total order came to $60.00 so I adamantly said no no no, please thats not necessary but she insisted on paying for it and said its that time of year!!! Oh My God, I was absolutely blown away as was my grandson that someone, without hesitation was being so generous and kind. My grandson said to me "I never saw anybody do something like that for someone they don't know!!" I've only read of things like this happening to people. This is something that my grandson and I will remember our whole lives. We had a little conversation outside the store and the woman "Lisa" told us that she has been telling her daughters (teenagers) that this world we live in now is not the same as it used to be and that people seem so different now and less compassionate and caring towards each other. Well, Lisa! You taught all of us a big lesson today. That no matter what a person possesses the most important thing to possess is love towards others, kindness, caring. You are a true angel and I absolutely cannot wait to do my share of "paying it forward" this week when I'm out and about.

I just wanted to share this awesome thing that happened to us today!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Be kind to each other!!!!

GOD BLESS YOU LISA AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened to me at Chipotle once, my card was declining and the woman behind me who was there with her son paid for me. I think MA has a perfect mix of impatience, philanthropy, and money for this to happen.

One thing I know about this state is there are the nicest people ever here but they might talk a lot of shit well helping you. some random person will stop to help you dig your car out of a snow bank while telling you all about how awful of a driver you are for losing control.

Nice, loud and crass is how I think of this state. "why do you take care of someone?" "you fucking retaaaad it's what you fucking do"

from traveling what I learned is northerns are kinder, louder and more agressive and the polite southerners using all the right polite words are the most cruel people you'll meet.

I have run into a few people that think that honest and unthinking willingness to help is charming while traveling is special. southern girls tend to find it shocking then find it charming too.

There's a video floating around comparing East coast to West coast mindset. East coast I thinking meaning north east. West coast is nice but not kind, and east coast is kind but not necessarily nice.

They go on to explain that a nice person will see your flat tire and say "I'm so sorry, that's too bad." but not do anything about it.

But and east coaster would say "You idiot, you got a flat tire? Move I'll change it, so you don't fuck it up." and then change your tire.

I'm new to the area but so far... I think this might be accurate. Though I've met TONS and majority of people and they're really nice AND kind.

I'm sure you can find the video somewhere online. What are your thoughts? Is this true?

Does this have to be about Christmas? Did “Lisa” say it was about Christmas, or just mitigating the impact of feudalistic slave capitalism? Christmas makes it worse.

There are good people out there. And I believe there are more of them than the bitch and whine crowd.

Someone in front of me paid for my dunkin donut order recently. They drove off before I even knew they did it. It’s really nice to see people paying it forward. Happy holidays.

OK, I'll explain. For starters Dollar Tree prices are no longer $1 for each item they are $1.25. I bought Christmas decorations (this was the bulk of what I bought), birthday cards, pens, markers, crayons, paper, candy, tissue, placemats, paper towels, aluminum foil, cleaning products, lighters for candles, cough drops, generic pain reliever, hand sanitizer, hand soap, pot holders, toilet paper. Trust me it adds up quick and I STILL didn't get everything I needed because I had other errands to run and was in a hurry.

Had a grocery store employee offer to pay for my groceries when I couldn't find my wallet once. My dad was sick again and it was snowing and I was so sad about the whole situation that I just walked out. When I got home, my wallet with everything in it was waiting for me in my mudroom. I must have dropped it in the parking lot and someone drove it to my house. Totally didn't expect it and really appreciated that someone took the time to be good to me with no real reason to be.
