Lots of trails around Lake massabesic in Manchester, great mountain biking at bear brook state park about 30 minutes away

The Goffstown Rail Trail is nice too. Starts behind Delta Dental Stadium and goes along the river into the center of Goffstown. Really enjoy that ride but it’s probably only 12 miles there and back.

The piscataquog dirt jumps are back there. It's not what it used to be, it got bulldozed a couple times but there's still some jumps back there. I wish I had a picture of what it used to look like, it was impressive like 10 years ago. If anyone wants to find them, find the bridge behind Delta stadium, cross the thing and take the second left. It's the trail parallel to the trail following the river that your looking for. About 50 yards down to your right you'll find the jumps.

You can jump off the Goffstown Rail Trail and ride up Mt. Uncanoonuc, which is fun. Great riding west of the city with mostly empty roads.

To the east, you can pick up the Rockingham Rail Trail by Elliot Hospital and ride that for about 40 miles east. Lots of good gravel riding off that trail in the property owned by the city for the water protection district.

There isn’t a great bike culture in Manchester that I’ve found, despite the very good biking.

Queen City Bike Collective is a decent little coop where you can rent cheap stand time on Elm Street south of Granite st.

Checkout Southern NH NEMBA facebook group. Lots of great places to ride around here. Little massabesic, musquash, yudicky, horse hill, grater woods, Clyde pond, bear Brook, Franklin falls dam.

The list in this comment is pretty good. I ride musquash and masabesic regularly and have been to all of the others mentioned. I actually think there’s a ton of trails around. Just get Trailforks and explore around the map!

I think when you get up to the Lincoln area it starts to lack, but southern NH has a lot going on for trails. And, sometimes I’ll even head down to mass too (eg to the trail system around Billerica that I’m forgetting the name of).

I’ve done a ton on riding on roads all around Manchester (outside the city in all directions). It’s pretty easy to find non 50 mph roads that are pretty good. Good rail trails out both east and west too. FOMBA (near Massabesic) is some gnarly singletrack (at least for this roadie) and bear brook a little to the north has some of everything: flowy, gnarly, climbs, double track/dirt roads. There’s a big network of snowmobile trails all around too and some are nice and some tough on a bike. Nice gravel loop (and some fire roads) at tower hill pond. Lots of good MTB trails in Bow (to the north) as well.

It’s not crazy like Boston suburbs with a ton of other riders, but on the road I’ll always pass a few other riders. Lots more will be on the trails I mentioned.

It's great -- tons of rail, gravel, and MTB trails nearby. Bear Brook just miles away. Green woodlands about an hour. And New England's best bike park just north of concord.

There’s a trail that goes from Derry to Concord or someshit. Pretty bonkers unless you’re into that kind of thing. Which you seem to be. So go for it!

The Musquash is a neat little spot. Beginner and intermediate friendly. Wicked buggy I’m the summer so you’re going to want to keep moving.

If you are in town I strongly recommend storing your bike behind a locked door. A bike locked up outside stands an excellent chance of disappearing.

A short drive up to Boscawen, and you can hop on the Northern Rail Trail - a beautiful hard packed trail that goes 52 miles one way out to Lebanon. There are trailheads with parking all along the trail and great country roads both paved and dirt/gravel to explore off the trail.

Summer? Do what I did when I was younger and in shape. :)

Hop on 101 eastbound and go to Hampton. Park "in the back" (1A southbound - behind the casino). Bike north up to Rye (I think I used to make it to Wallis?). Relax, lie on the beach for a little bit, then head back.

Good choice avoiding road biking in NH. People really don't like it.
