It's not FiOS. I have received this message and do not have FiOS associated with my Verizon account.
TwoWilburs OP t1_j56lzf5 wrote
Yeah sorry I thought of that later. I have both & the text came from a number that emails me about my Verizon Fios account so assumed it was Fios

Maybe I’ll finally get service in east falls. I don’t know how I can be 5 miles from the center of one of the nations biggest cities and not be able to use my phone without wifi
BrythonicMan t1_j56eyqk wrote
Huh never had that happen to me. Where in East Falls does this happen to you usually? If you don't mind

Near the Jefferson campus

I'd maybe hit them up via chat for a reset or something, tell them your issues. I'm in EF and walk my dog several miles a day all around the neighborhood, haven't encountered any dead zones (although I'm not one of those people buried in my phone the whole walk, I do take it out occasionally to check/respond to messages).

Wonder if they already started this yesterday. When I got home from work, the wifi wasn't working and I had to reboot the wifi router to get it back on. That's not happened before. Of course it could be an issue with the router, but now I wonder if it was just some interruption of service (at any time earlier in the day) that upset the router.
TwoWilburs OP t1_j56nbio wrote
Yeah this happened to me too

Also don’t be fooled by the people coming around asking for your account number to send you a gift card. I had a girl come to my door the other day doing that shit, she had a badge and a Verizon jacket. The badge looked a little janky so we called Verizon after I sent her away and come to find out i was right and it was a scam.

Dammit was about to switch. Up to $138/mo just for high speed. And I stand on 18 & ludlow holding this pos phone up to the mighty comcastle for weak 5g when supposedly paying for xfinity wifi We’re cuffed

Can confirm Fios > Xfinity. I had maybe 1 disruption this past year and it last a couple of hours.
ReturnedFromExile t1_j56l2k5 wrote
I don’t know if I’ve ever had a service interruption on FiOS in 3-4 years
redfern54 t1_j56rw06 wrote
Same. With Comcast they needed to send a technician out 2-3 times a year for some random issue. Zero issues with fios for 4-5 years
TwoWilburs OP t1_j56n7g1 wrote
Yeah I’m still inclined to say Fios is better despite this

I pay Verizon $123 a month for 3.0mbps DSL.

Are you able to use starlink? That's what I got because CenturyLink is so bad
Wuz314159 t1_j5817bl wrote
I was looking into that before Elon turned into a full-fledged Bond villain.
flamehead2k1 t1_j5b65w4 wrote
Eh, starlink is really helpful to Ukraine so I'm fine spending money on it.
Especially when the other options are Bright speed (fmr CenturyLink) and some 4g wireless from some religious company.

is this FiOS related or Verizon wireless related? I dont think FiOS uses the "America's most reliable network" slogan?
