Any place anyone can recommend at or near providence for someone who isn’t very good at roller skating to practice that wouldn’t be too intense? Got a cute pair of skates I wanna try out without embarrassing myself too much? Any places anyone recommends? :) anyways! Thanks in advance!

What kind of wheels do you have on your skates? Because that will determine what I suggest. A good place to learn is any public tennis court. You can hold onto the chain link fence and closer to sundown, fall down in private.

Are Thursday Adult Skate nights any less crowded than the normal days? I'm trying to get my wife comfortable on roller skates, but we went to United Skates of America on a random Sunday and it was overwhelming for her.

There’s a brown parking garage on Brook street by like piezonis. There’s a second floor and plenty of space where cars don’t usually park, and no one cares or bothers you. Also Big perimeter wall so you’re private from the street to practice in private. There’s a police substation next door but they never gave me any trouble for being up there

The downtown rink is now free of ice and you can skate there pretty much anytime you want although they do have some recreational activities there some nights. The rollerdisco season opens at the end of May and it's totally worth it to get a pass. There's a bunch of great people who go and the music programming is the best of any rink you'll go to

We love USA Skates like others have mentioned and we go all the time and have had my daughter's birthday there a few times, but for a new skater, it gets insane sometimes. We found this place https://www.forrestsfamilyfuncenter.com/ about 30 minutes North of Providence. Big open rink with the center open. Great place, and nice people. Much less busy than USA skates to practice at

I love this advice. I honestly don’t know but will find out and get back to you! Just a $100 pair I thought were cute on Urban Outfitters which is hit or miss with quality but they seem very nice!

I’ve got an idea. What about a supermarket that way you would have a cart for additional support

Sholes, by the airport. Is that place still around? Just down the road from the Carvel and Johnson & Wales's Warwick campus.

I'd imagine a random weekend afternoon is the worst time. I've only gone a few times on Thursdays and it wasn't empty, but it wasn't a sea of divorced Dads trying to bond with the kids one last time before dropping em off at Cheryl's.
