Is this the byproduct of the fact that we did have a fried chicken franchise out of RVA? (RIP Church's.) Just wondering outloud.

Edit: how terrible. I got the name of the RVA franchise wrong. Golden Skillet is from RVA, not Church's.

Any sparkling wine. I talked to a wine expert one time in Houston who successfully catered his own wedding with Cook’s Brut Grande Reserve as an inside joke.

Champagne actually does pair well with fried chicken. And really.....it pairs well with a lot of food. It's customarily been used for toasting celebratory events and as an aperitif, but it's actually good during dinner a lot of the time. It's also good out of a normal Riedel wine glass, skip the flute.

Fried chicken pairs incredibly well with white wine, particularly if it's bubbles. I went to a Rose and fried chicken birthday party one of the biggest wine snobs in Richmond.
