In the U.S. it was. In China, we started with Windows Live search (there may have been an MSN Search earlier, in China, that was utilizing some 3rd party search of some sort. I don't recall exactly.).

Bing doesn't monetize for shit in China. So, no.
Source: I helped build Bing (first Windows Live Search) in China (and could tell you all sorts of stories of government interference).

The gov website uses antiquated (and sometimes politicized) methodologies and updates. The better info comes from First Street Foundation, IMO.

Yes, I can imagine something more vile. If Trump insulted my father, and my wife, and called me a liar (even though I am one), I'd never bow down to that MFer. In fact, I'd spend my days sticking him (politically) in the back with a knife every chance I got.
