Unlike 311 reports that go to the NYPD, the TLC actually does their job and takes them seriously. So there’s definitely a backlog, but someone is actually going to review your report and do something about it.

Reply to Brooklyn residents complain of having no say in choice of new NYPD precinct commander, despite new city policy: ‘It’s a farce’ by TheNormalAlternative
I agree that the process looks like a farce, but the community councils themselves are a farce. If community boards are unelected, undemocratic, unaccountable, and unrepresentative of the community, then community councils are an even worse example of the same things.

I would say it’s one overlooked tactic and a really good one. Makes the playgrounds more fun and pleasing to look at (and especially less bleak in Winter).
Also overlooked for flooding are adding more trees and replacing parking spaces with bioswales in locations prone to flooding.

What a waste of money. Also appreciate the big FU in wrapping the thing in the NYPD flag. Definitely is not inspiring me to scan their QR code and whatever tracking bullshit it takes me to.

The NYPD absolutely does not give a single iota of a fuck about dangerous drivers. The change would start at the top, but the mayor is a former cop, his DoT has no desire to take over traffic enforcement and fight the NYPD on that (even though they are legally allowed to do so), nor are they approaching traffic safety design in any holisic way, and the council as a group won't touch the NYPD budget at all.
So you're kind of stuck filing 311 complaints or dragging your ass to a "Build the Block" meeting, where some bored sergeant will almost, but never quite give enough of a fuck to help the situation.

The proposed cut is 2.5% when every other agency in the city has been forced (unreasonably) to make cuts. And we all know that will just get made up with more "mandatory" overtime.

Crime aficionados do not consider this crime a crime. They don’t consider wage theft a crime. They don’t consider breaking housing law to be a crime. They don’t talk about any of this. They don’t actually care about crime.

I was an adult when he was mayor and think he was pretty shitty. A lot of our problems today can be traced back to his administration, either by policy choices he made or problems he ignored.
