True, New Hampshire may be the way to go, similar gun laws (though you may have to deal with FSP folks occasionally) but there are larger population centers and can get within easy striking distance of Boston while still being somewhat rural.

Oof, good to know. It's funny the range of moving services out there. From a "rent-a-friend" type loading help to white glove, climate controlled carriers, and a private jet service and cars to bring you to your next home.
Detritus_AMCW t1_jd8owe2 wrote
A good place to start is Move Buddha they have decent information on a variety of movers, cross country, local DIY, and so on. Back this by checking on reviews, one of their budget friendly recommendations (Safeway) has had a ton of bad reviews over the last 8 months.
That being said, your major carriers like American Van Lines or North American moving services are not scams.

Reply to Vermont vs New Hampshire by Lucky-Specialist-790
Geography plays a role, Vermont was better suited to Agriculture and New Hampshire not as much, though New Hampshire was well suited for industrial production.
With agriculture, fewer people tend more land, and your hamlets and small towns develop accordingly. With industry and manufacturing, you need more people to work in a focused area and develop larger towns and small cities. Vermont's larger towns and cities tend to be a result of commerce (shipping, railroad hubs etc).
Brave Little State did an interesting piece on the development of the two states years ago.

I hear ya, brass knuckles are pretty devastating, and where the blow landed based on the mugshot... Dude's zygomatic bones surviving without damage to the orbital, maxillary or temporal processes seem unlikely. Not impossible though.
Unrelated tip: A Bic type lighter held in your hand turns your fist into a concrete block without the impracticality of carrying a roll of quarters or a deadly weapon like brass knuckles. The absolute best option is to walk away.

The only place brass knuckles have been mentioned is internet comment boards. If there is a trial and not just a plea, I'm willing to bet we would hear about it.

Emily's Bridge? Considering the backstory, maybe not.
Somewhere on the Bingham Falls loop or Sterling Gorge Falls trails? Or are they trying for a "Vermonty" town location?

Reply to Vermont stone walls... by bravestatevt
My father had my brother and I start building one at the back of our property when we were kids.we did not do a lot. Decades later, in his retirement, he started working on it and made tremendous progress. After he died suddenly the wall sat, a reminder he was no longer here. So now, every time I visit, I go out and find more stones for the wall. Progress is slow but moves ever forward.

Norwich is especially competitive as the feed into the Hanover, NH school district, which is one of the highest rated in the state. The area is loaded with million dollar plus homes, and even the teachers' average salary is 97k annually.

I've encountered this more in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom or NEK. It's a lot of the outflow from Quebec.

I was going to say the same, indicators point to a gradual deflation that will take time. There is not going to be a sudden bottoming out of the market like in 2008-2009.

As a bonus, your soil doesn't shift, potentially destroying your foundation like in North TX, South OK. Sure, you might have to contend with Radon, but there are ways to mitigate it.
