It simply depends on what you count as "listenable" volumes. Sure an iphone can power hd600's to a low level of volume which may be perfectly "listenable". The issue is power required to raise the volume is not linear, each extra decibel requires a larger increase in power than the previous one.

Now lets say you're not listening to highly compressed professionally produced music which has a tiny dynamic range, lets say its amateur produced with a massive dynamic range. Suddenly you need 10x the power to get to that same "listenable" level.

Then there is the question of what is "listenable"? If you're trying to recreate the experience of a concert you may be looking at transient peaks of 100db, that will take way more power for the hd600's than an iphone will deliver.

At the end of the day though, the question is are you happy with the volume you're getting in all scenarios? If yes, then there's no problem.

I think it would formally be classified as social media, but for my money there is not a lot social about it compared to the likes of facebook or twitter. We congregate around subreddits, not individuals, and we don't 'follow' or 'friend' each other.

Frankly reddit is less social than an old school forums where you're likely to get to know people and see the same posters routinely.

You know its a very specific frequency of microwave energy that is used in a microwave oven, all other frequencies are completely harmless. Even if that exact frequency was used, then in that case i doubt it would penetrate far through the atmosphere, there is a lot of water in the atmosphere you see.

Honestly, this sub ought to be renamed "scifi" rather than futurology for all the understanding of basic science that most of its members seem to have.

Some interesting definitions of "personal finance" all around. I'd suggest personal finance is topics like pensions, cost of living, mortgages.

Basic budgeting, which you seem to be referring to here is condescending at best to assume others are dumb enough to have it as an interest. Its so basic its like targeting advertising on people who use the alphabet.
