Anytime I see a cop driving behind me and then realize its only RPD I relax....they never pull anyone over for traffic. It's wild.

I'm also a cyclist and I totally relate. Had some dickhead 2 days ago in a beater driving like he's on a Nascar track try to pass me while I was in a turning lane literally turning left at the intersection...he thought he could squeeze through on my left side. This shit happens all the time.

Sounds like we are missing some information possibly? I'm not really understanding why he essentially wants to allow your roommate to live there without being on the lease but is willing to put them on a new lease in April...im guessing your original lease ends in April and the lease you are signing now is am updated lease? Are you actually signing a whole new lease or it is an add/drop addendum? It just seems wierd that he wants to sign a lease now and then again in April.

When I was a PM I used to say we protected landlords from themselves because they are often spiteful and clueless. That said, fair housing laws don't prevent someone from inquiring if a tenant will require an accommodation (like a support animal). That said, he shouldn't be asking you about it...he should be vetting the new roommate just like he hopefully did for you and adding them to the lease. Your roommate's information is private and even you should not be discussing it.

I'm not seeing anything discriminatory here necessarily. He just sounds like a dumbass.

From my past reading on the CVTA, that money is just granted to the county and many of the other towns/cities/counties in the central Virginia area. Chesterfield I think is one of the largest recipients. But still it's not really given in a management capacity, it's considered revenue on the county budget. Interestingly VDOT maintenance isn't accounted for in the budget, which is something I've been trying to learn more about. Like how does VDOT allocate money per county and what is the invisible expense that isn't on the county ledgers because they fall under VDOT discretion?

Ya its just alot of issues that Henrico doesn't really have to even think of. Henrico and other surrounding counties also don't have to really think too much about how to draw in people because RVA does that for them. The counties score big time on just having to focus on basic services while Richmond is tasked with heading regional efforts to maintain tourism, population growth, transport, etc. Henrico, Chesterfield, Powhatan, and Hanover can all just aboard the revenue stream that is Richmond.

Well we don't know for sure who was responsible...so I do have sympathy. And I don't entirely disagree that it is interesting people are more outraged at a cyclist's death (I am an avid cyclist) than other deaths we see in the city...but implying that only "certain people" live on Chamberlayne and therefore we don't care about this particular death (so next stop Dog Whistle city here we come) is a stretch. It's obvious this incident is bizarre and uncommon.

People also complain about rent but the rent includes a gym, pool, dog park, package lockers, free maintenance 24/7, community events, free event spaces, etc. Not to mention everyone has to have a car so instead of 200 more units that would have helped lower the rent for everyone, you get to subsidize the owners who had to build a massive garage.
