City boy watches too much tv and movies. You think living rough is an enjoyable thing. You’d make it a weekend, maybe a week, like you’re doing some flatlander getaway on a ranch to feel like a cowboy. Water access huh? Gonna have a well drilled, or you think water access will be your source, gonna boil every drip of water to ensure there’s no giardia that’ll lay you out flat? What about when a tree comes down on your road, or worse, your house and fancy Tesla? Two feet of snow followed by freezing rain buried your soft ass in your house and you run out of battery, what’s your plan?
Do yourself a favor, buy a regular house in suburbia, then just pay for a weekend away at a cabin, take all the pictures in your pretty new flannel shirts with a Walmart ax over your shoulder and say you’re a woodsman, don’t try to actually be one, you’ll fail.

It’s not your home. Go to mass or stay where you are. We don’t need more people moving here and trying to change it.

Can tell you, the current Bedford Cheif is a former DEA suit, so if he has an archaic view on drugs, that’s likely your answer.
As for legalizing weed, yeah it should be a no brainer. Big pharma is the main reason it isn’t federally legal, that and the far right Christian powers who believe the 90’s commercial where the kid hits a joint then suck starts a shotgun. Weed is far less dangerous then alcohol, which we guzzle like water. And in fact has beneficial medical and therapeutic aspects (along with just being enjoyable as it) which alcohol does not. NH is very much behind the times, and as another commenter stated, losing a wicked lot of taxable sales to our neighboring states in pot sales.

Yes, I too am tired for driving 15 minutes to get absolute top notch, essentially pharma grade bud. I long for the days of meeting randy in the Walmart parking lot and getting ripped off for an 1/8th of seeds and stems.
Try your evidence locker, I’m sure you’ve got plenty there, unless the shift leader already took it all. There’s an opioid crisis in the USA, and Manchester is rife with it. Maybe focus our tax dollars on that instead of trying to arrest someone with the botanical equivalent of a 6 pack.

Head north. Then west. And keep going. Till you start seeing orange license plates.
Edit: in reality if you want isolation, gotta go further from comfort. If you don’t want to have to drive 30+ minutes just to get to a grocery, and even further for “shopping”, don’t even try. And then there’s cost of living. I’m building remote right now, and just to get power out there it’s 60grand. Then there’s maintenance. You gonna pay someone to plow your road AND driveway each winter, or do it yourself?
Building a even quasi remote house is so much more expensive and complicated then just buying in a fucking development. And you want to be remote, you got any experience living remote? Or just another flatlander who is gonna make a post about keeping kids inside when you see a fox or particularly angry squirrel?

I support this! This is as pretty as NH gets, everything else is photoshopped. I’m amazed you didn’t get any racists or ax murderers in the scene, as NH is rife with them. Not to mention the floating plagues that’s sweep through every day!
All flatlanders pay heed, NH is neither pretty nor safe, best to stay away.

Says the man who knows nothing about husbandry. Grow a boar to mature age and tell Me about how cooperative it is. I’ve had to shoot sows before because they get so ornery I can’t herd ‘em into the trailer to bring to slaughter. And god damn is dressing them yourself a pain in the ass, not like dressing a deer.

Local farms generally always buy piglets from outside, as it’s much much easier then raising sows. Best bet is either a blue seal or other grain store, or find a farm vet. We get ours from our farm vet every year, and good part about that is it’s pretty much guaranteed the hogs are healthy and with shots, and when we’ve had a gimpy one before he came and tended it back to health.

When did I say being trans is a choice? If you can show it I will apologize. All I said was it was a personal issue, not a public one, therefore not requiring public funding.
And anger wasn’t any part of that statement, but rather based on the OPs previous comments level of snarkyness and frankly, I have yet to see a trans person who doesn’t act like they are more persecuted then the Jews in Poland circa 1939.

Frankly things like over eating and smoking shouldn’t be covered by public tax dollars either. Those again, hurt the individual, but not the community, therefore personal issue. The opioid epidemic was directly used against the PUBLIC by the big pharma companies, Purdue in particular. It damages the public as a whole, just look at Manchester if you don’t believe me, obesity and smoking didn’t turn that city into the relative shithole it is now. And (though the company’s themselves should foot the whole bill but we know that isn’t gonna happen) public dollars should be used to help those addicts and fight the inflow of drugs.
Helping obese people, smokers, and trans wishing to transition, is not a “for the betterment of the public” cause, but rather for those individuals themselves.

See here you go, I didn’t say a single thing against trans people. I entirely encourage someone to express themselves, be it gay, trans, bi, religious beliefs, whatever. I just don’t think the taxpayer dollar should be used to further someone’s own personal beliefs. But I express that, no segregationist talk, no anger, no bigotry at all. Everyone is well within their rights and should have the freedom to pursue whatever happiness they want. But because I think there’s better uses for tax dollars, that makes me a bigot?
Our nation is widely divided on political lines already, and the ease of pressing the “bigot” button, on BOTH SIDES of the political aisle, only divide us futher. Rather then debate, you simply pressed the “he voted for someone else therefore I can never agree” button and took the east way out

That’s good, no one should give a shit about my steroids, hence why I pay for them. No one should give a shit about people’s personal issues, hence PERSONAL issues. If you feel the need to support people in their personal choices, feel free to toss some money in OPs direction to help them.

For someone presumably pushing the modern style of thinking in regards to gender and equality, you have a very antiquated view on drug addicts. Across the board, both society wide and medically, drug addiction, in particular opioid addiction which is the biggest issue in NH, and across the USA, is completely acknowledged as a chemical rewriting of the brain that the addicts themselves cannot simply “decide” to change.
For someone who I’m sure wails and gnashes their teeth against the oppression and lack of equality of a very minor group of the population, I’m gently surprised at your total lack of insight or compassion to the victims of the opioid crisis.
Though I suppose I’m not surprised, many people are so self absorbed that anyone’s issues beyond the length of your own nose are not important.

Sadly I’d agree except drug addiction treatment isn’t fully covered by the state, or else we wouldn’t still be in the epidemic we are. So I’ll stand by my point, it’s something that should be treated with your own money. The system may be broken, but there are more pressing issues to address in regards to Medicare then the small amount of people needing HRT. Let HRT cover it AFTER they cover drug treatment. Frankly I’ve heard more about Trans in the last few years because it’s a tiny issue being yelled loudest by the few. Meanwhile drug addicts go swept under the rug completely, when it’s a dramatically bigger and more dangerous issue. Rampant drug addiction is a PUBLIC issue, therefore should be helped with public funds. Someone believing their a women or a man despite how they were born is a PRIVATE issue, and should be dealt with privately.

Doesn’t cover my personal steroid usage, why should it cover your personal choice? Pay for your own electives yourself and leave the funds available for people with actual need like, you know, cancer, serious drug addiction, auto immune diseases, etc.
Edit: let me be clear, if you want to get HRT, by all means go for it. If you don’t feel like your in your right body, do whatever you want. If you’re gay, go ahead, if you believe your a duck, go ahead and get webbed feet. All I say is don’t ask the taxpayer to fund your decision. I pay for my own steroids because I’m an adult. If your 18 and want to get your face tattooed, go ahead, pay for it yourself. That’s what freedom should be. I support medical aid to those who can’t afford it, no one should die from a curable or treatable disease because they don’t have enough money. But for electives, personal choices like HRT, body augmentation or tattoos, that by no means should be funded by anyone other then yourself.

As long as your house is insulted you’ll be fine flatlander.
