Major agree, it's honestly an abysmally inconvenient trip to the airport for anyone not on or just off of Market. The airport should be accessible within 30 min by most neighborhoods in Philly by public transit.

I've been using a refill service for household goods, called "The Rounds". It's supposed to reduce packagjng for common stuff and you can return jars, bottles, and bags for them to reuse. It's pretty good! I don't use it for everything, but I haven't bought toilet paper, oil, cleaners, etc from a store in over a year.

It sucks how true this is. For all the shit that Philly residents give NYC, Philly could learn a thing or 2 about transit. In the same time frame, the MTA modernized the 2 fleets subway cars, completed one subway line extension, is working on the 2nd Ave extension, and planning an entirely new line. Meanwhile, Philly is thinking about moving bus routes around... Ugh, it's so damn frustrating

If this land can be safely and reliably cleaned up, then it definitely has potential, but unless it's also integrated into the city's transit, it's just going to become another hostile, autocentric, and underutilized space in Philly.

For real. Philly's lack of completed transit projects over the last 10 years is really shows that its not serious about becoming a transit oriented city.

I hate Facebook but, there might be a queer neighborhood FB group that you might be able to join. I know my neighborhood has a couple. It's obv not ideal but it could help.

I've taken the airport line after connecting from the El when timing works out just right, but that's not sustainable since the trip is 1 hour or more, when a drive is 15 min. It's bafflingly bad. In the past 4 trips, I've only used transit once due to lack of frequency, and I'm 5 min from an El stop.
