This is literally what basements in older houses were designed for. Depending on the age and placement of the house, frankly I’d be a little concerned if I didn’t see some water seeping through.

Take the time to call Adam Rossi at Adam Solar Rides in the South Hills. Adam has been in the e-bike business longer than any other shop in the area, and he carries a wide range of bikes from multiple brands. He is also a genuinely great guy, and an electrician to boot. I do believe it would be well worth the inconvenience of distance.

Any of them. Whichever you can afford and fits your needs. And used ones are generally decent.

If you haven’t already, check out the Oakland film by Rick Sebak where she and her sisters are in their family store together.

I think there are more than you think and many in the outlying suburbs where rent may be cheaper than in the city.
Also Covid and Covid restrictions absolutely crushed many small businesses that dealt directly to the public without a strong delivery program in place.
Jungle Jim’s is an amazing store near Cincinnati that I wish I could have closer. Anyone here ever been?

Sometimes I see Spaz in Bloomfield. He was a DJ at a few clubs back then.
I loved seeing rock shows at Rosebud. I remember seeing Luna there back in 2001 and I recall it being top notch all around.
I saw Type O Negative at Metropol, and this is off the top of my head, but I would put it around 1995?

I had it at Sardi’s in NYC on NYE in 1995, and it was amazing but I was also drunk and everything that night seemed amazing. I do recall reading in a recent post on this sub that someone had it in DeShantz’s Rib Room and I seem to recall they also enjoyed it there.

I’ve gotten into the groove of a non video phone call with my therapist who is aging out of the profession but has kept a handful of clients like me—we have a 20 year professional relationship with an 8 year gap in the middle. It’s personal to every such relationship, but I find the audio only call is more intimate and I’m able to focus better on the issues at hand. When we are on video conferences I feel more self conscious and it distracts me from the issues I need to focus on. I do enjoy the occasional office visit!

This is what I do. I have straight up phone calls with my therapist and just park by where Gus’s sets up in the Commons park and nobody has ever bothered me or stared at me. Another good place is the outer limits of a parking lot of a box store. Of course this presupposes OP has access to a vehicle.

To be fair, this is one of the least safe or quiet parts of the Northside. The part of Commons Park that is closest to you is an open air drug market. East Ohio Street is being gentrified with expensive new restaurants and an expansion of the local brewery. You are directly underneath the flight path of life flight helicopters, which are insanely loud and not easy to get used to in that proximity.
I would look elsewhere—you can do much better to find a place that suits your needs as explained in your post. That said, part of the experience of living in the city is being in the middle of a living confluence of people and things. You could live here and enjoy it but I think there are quieter and safer places for you to be bad.

I think they should be limited to local ownership. For example, if you live within 3 miles of the location you’re renting out. But I know that’s impractical to expect.
