Wether or not she becomes a character in SE2 I think it still works to set the action of the series in motion. It’s a reason for Andor to overstep his bounds which leads to his trouble with the police.

Also the TNG bugs kind of reminded me of the mind control bugs from Wrath of Khan. And the special effects looked like Red Dwarf.

The Wire is better than any other show, so it must be the “Best”.

Halfway through the first season, I think it’s good. All the characters mug for the camera too much though. On Parks and Rec or the Office the POV character was the only one that stared straight to camera very often, on AE every main character seems to do it 2-3 times an episode. It’s the same joke so there are diminishing returns imo.

That song completely turned me around on the Spike/Buffy relationship. All of a sudden he was undead Billy Idol and I got it.

That one is a legitimate banger. Could have been a Cole Porter song.

I have the opposite feeling, that show had a murderous row of great actors but didn’t know what to do with them.

Pre-Pam Anderson baywatch was a different show. If you ever caught it in syndication there a different tone to the first two seasons which was much more serious. More like a procedural.

I enjoyed it, but the more I thought about it afterward the more it reminded me of the first season of Westworld. A high-concept Sci-fi show which ended season one on a real high note. Hopefully they have interesting answers inside all the puzzle boxes they’ve showed us.

Loved the books as a teenager. Like Game of Thrones on Acid. Hopefully they can recreate the profound strangeness of the books. A dynastic struggle across space and time for control over all-reality will require a decent budget.
Also, fingers crossed, they cast people with fencing experience because there’s a lot of swordplay in the books. In-universe most technology becomes difficult to use the closer one gets to Amber.

I thought they wrote themselves into a corner making Robin infertile in Season 6. The obvious happy ending would have been for the Mother to have been unable to conceive and for the entire story to be an elaborate introduction into who the kids bio mom really was.

I think by Lifespan OP means Potential for Sequals/seasons?
By that standard the answer has to be shows that build in ways for cast members to be replaced and which don’t involve a single long running storyline. Dr. Who or ER for example.

Yep, my bad, the radius of the earths orbit is an AU.
Parsec still is related to the radius of the earth’s orbit however.

First, acting cues in scripts are cannon now?
Second, “Ben reacts to Solo’s stupid attempt to impress them with obvious misinformation.” Could just as well refer to Solo’s line taken at face value rather than as an elaborate test.
Third, if it was written as an elaborate test it’s one the audience could only understand if they knew what a parsec was. Instead it went over most peoples heads.
Forth, a Parsec is a unit of length equal to the radius of Earth’s orbit. Which is a very strange unit of measurement for a galaxy far far away.

It’s really amazing the lengths people will go through to justify their favorite piece of pop culture being shiny and perfect.
Case in point: “making the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs” is obviously just a goof in the SW script that nobody noticed. It’s like running a race in under 12 miles, it makes no sense. But there are a million explanations out there about why “no actually your wrong because…”

I like Vision I guess. But what a waste of Paul Bettany’s talents. 8 episodes him rehashing Data B-plots from NTG is a crying shame. One of the best actors working today.

Paul Bettany is incredible in Margin Call. The scene on the roof where he casually contemplates jumping is the best scene in a movie packed with great scenes.
