Looks like there’s maybe two other homes that might be inhabited on the block, the houses across the street literally have trees growing out of them. Safety is another variable, not just with living there, but with the rehab itself. You’d have to keep it from getting broken into and have a way to prevent your supplies from getting stolen. Some contractors won’t even do work in an area like this.

Yep. Also, the Point in Time count doesn’t even include everyone who meets the definition of “homelessness”. Including people whose living situation is unstable (couchsurfing, staying with family, etc.) or staying in a single room occupancy arrangement (those room rental situations really suck). It’s hard to determine how many people are in those situations, but important to acknowledge, they need access to resources too. “Housing” is the bare minimum, people need agency and some kind of quality of life.

SniffSpot has been a lifesaver. You don’t really want to take this dog to a public space where you have no control over the environment or the dog, it could be disastrous. Also, whether or not the area is “public” there are still leash laws, so even if a space looks “clear”, your dog should be on a six foot lead, not a longline, a six foot lead

Probably unpopular opinion, but I don’t think that Restaurant Week is actually the best time to try new places. Prices don’t seem to be any better, kind of seems like a rip off; it’s all prix fixe, which works for fancier places, but just seems like catering food from places that don’t usually have this type of service

Resources are limited. If you want to get into any shelters in the city, you have to go through the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services. They do have places for women without children 443-984-9540;

Good summary, I would add that she was responsible for trying one man four times due to a seemingly personal vendetta, and also in an effort to protect the police, who shot him. She was even held in contempt at one point for violating a gag order related to the case, ultimately spending extra money to prosecute and incarcerate him, while mismanaging her office. He was just released on 1/13/23, by the new States Attorney. There have been concerns about corruption, disguising source of campaign donations, (for her and her husband) misuse of campaign funds, etc…I heard the she won one case on Judge Judy one time tho…

Not sure about openings/waitlists, accessing services has been increasingly more difficult. Support jobs are low-paying/high stress:

Center for Autism and Spectrum Related Disorders at Kennedy Krieger: 443-923-7630, option 2;

Bloom Health Services: 667-668-2566

Complete Wellness: 443-438-7863

To access support programs (vocational, social, etc.) Clients have to be referred to most programming through them, the records you describe should be sufficient. There is an online .pdf that you can print and mail (they are in the stone ages), have to be diligent about following up.
