Honestly, I’m surprised they weren’t more clear in terms of what constitutes vigorous activity.
I had one of mine (yes, just the one) taken out a few years back, but I was older than you. The doc looked at my wedding ring and explicitly told me “Sex is a strenuous activity.” I told him that I was a widower and without skipping a beat, he replied, “So is flying solo.”
Anyhow, take your pills on time, and push through the feeling of swallowing glass to get enough to eat.
(And if anyone is wondering why it was just the one tonsil, well it decided to be a little shithead and pretend to be cancerous. Since good doctors aren’t in the habit of taking out working bodily organs, they left the other in. I’m a walking before and after tonsillectomy example for my doctors and dentist.)

I’m not even mostly American (technically I am) but I’ve worked on your bloody EHR systems. And even I know that specifying colours is generally only found in aviation and other transportation regs.
Which makes sense as even a “Code Blue” is not universal.
But even in countries where there is a unified universal health system, such as Britain’s NHS or my own Ireland’s HSE, federal/national governmental regs don’t get that specific and each Trust or Hospital Group has substantial control over these sorts of things.

Good lord. As an engineer you should know just how many things are different and still compliant with government standards.
Some things sure are the same, but many times government regulations are like “have a thing that does XYZ” and leave it up to you entirely how to implement that.
One need only look at the different EHRs.

I run a DND campaign in a world where there’s an important temple called The Twelve Pillars of Knowledge.
When my players asked about it, I told them it comprised Five Pillars of Intelligence and Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
No one got the joke. I was disappointed in them.

I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if their older kids were currently getting outpatient treatment at the hospital. I can imagine there might have been some psychological counselling going on just in case something happened.
Depending on their age, the idea of doctors cutting your little sisters apart might be a bit traumatic.
