Coke plants are closing because scrap is now the preferred and more cost effective method.

A coke plant near us announced they were closing and it came as a shock, even to the employees. They had recently invested $300 million in the plant.

People lived all over Western Pennsylvania when the steel mills and chemical and coke plants were belching pollution and most of them lived to ripe old ages.

I will say this. My father was rushed to the Mercy ER over a month ago. He has been in critical care, a step down unit and a rehab unit.

Outside of two lazy nursing assistants who were too busy playing with their phones to even be polite, everyone has been fantastic. It is an awesome hospital. Especially in the critical care floor, where the doctors and nurses were incredible.

I don't know much about pay & benefits but I know that they are short staffed on nurses and they work 12 hour shifts.

So, in my opinion, Mercy is great.

I don't think West Penn is as busy but I haven't been there in years.

The FBI always said that Mike Genovese was the boss of the family from the 80s until he died in the early 2000s but they never had him on tape saying anything incriminating.

Even when Porter and the other guy (Riaucci?) got sent up, neither ratted on him, even though he was supposed to be a big dealer of blow.
