And thats exactly the point of jetlag.

If you are in the US your body is used to sun raising at x and setting at y.

Then you go to somwhere in asia, and it becomes x-8 and y-8. And you get confused.

The guys body would be used to earth conditions, and now is somewhere way further and disoriented.

Both this story and the one one you linked were awesome, you could make a whole book on this universe and this tired and well meaning genie trying not to fuck up either reality nor humanity

I dont know if thats the idea you intended but... Its funny how the genie still ruined the guys life anyways with the last wish, as he will never do anything other than stay here watching him suffer. If it was intended, absolutely genius writing.
