Hit the nail on the head. It’s going to take leadership saying some uncomfortable things I think to arouse everyone back.

You’re right. As other commenters have said, they’re hanging around bars.

I just have such an overwhelming rage reading this lol. I mean good for you, don’t take it personally but seriously fuck all of the overpaid lazy state employees. Fuck every single one of them.

Proctor and West Rutland were where some of the bigger marble quarries were. They’re still very much so accessible in West Rutland. I grew up there and spent considerable time there playing around the quarries as a kid.
Feel free to DM me with any questions. It’s not near Burlington though. No marble quarries are as far as I know, it’s more slate as your get closer to there. Proctor and West Rutland are about 2 hours south of Burlington in the central-south portion of the state

I used to have HFCU (heritage). They switched me to a “premium” checking account without my knowledge. Charged me $2.95 per month for it. Very antiquated practices and technology. Most banks did away with overdraft fees years ago, and you’d think a mission driven credit union would have as well, but nope. They don’t support instant transfers from things like Venmo or Cash App, even though I was paying $2.95 per month just to have a checking account! There were a few random days every year where my debt card just didn’t work. I’d call them and it’d be some sort of “issue” they were having causing outages. Every 6 months or so, their website would be down on a Saturday for “scheduled maintenance”. Very inconvenient if you wanted to literally just check your balance.
I use a big nationally known bank now. No random outages. No overdraft fees. Free checking account. Instant transfers supported.
Wish I could say my credit union experience was better.

Over 1 million people in the Boston Metro area heat their homes with natural gas from utility lines underneath their streets. This issue won’t impact Vermont quite as much, as heat pumps and wood/pellet stoves are quite popular here. But the impacts will be grave. Regardless of ether the scarcity is “manufactured” or not.

Most MA places have a 20% total tax as local municipalities can add on top of the state tax up to a total of 20%.
As a MA customer, keep an eye out for sales. Some of the deals make it “worth it”.
