Back in 2020, the remnants of a hurricane hit my hometown and toppled old pine trees all over the place. My sister and I tried to drive home from my parents house, but we kept having to take detours because of downed power lines. A drive that should have taken 10 minutes turned into a half-hour maze. I don't want that kind of thing to happen again. Better to bury all the lines.

Now keep in mind that this is all from 20 years ago, so I may not be remembering accurately, but -- from what I recall,Lieberman was the Joe Manchin of his era. The kind of senator who cultivates an image of being independent from party politics, but winds up mostly getting in the way of things the Democrats want to do. Which definitely didn't go over well in Connecticut.

I don't know if I like Chris Murphy. I don't hear much about him. He seems to be a decent fellow. But even a neutral opinion of Senator Murphy is higher than what people here thought of Joe Lieberman.
